Wow, great idea and incredible execution! Pretty fun to play, congrats!

Thanks :D

I found it really fun! My only concern is that chain feels a bit stiff/rigid at times which meant that anchors couldn't move as far as I thought it would. The puzzles were engaging and really fun to solve though so great job!

Thanks :)

Would work wonders as a physical toy, it’s a very literal interpretation of the theme and yet it’s clever.

Thanks :D

The art in this game is stand-out brilliant! I love the concept - making everything interact with physics leaves room for some really interesting puzzles. Great work ^^

Developer

Thanks :) Glad you had fun!

Brilliant idea! Just the right combination with the theme! Plays like an old-fashioned puzzle toy, and it feels great when you solve the puzzles!

Developer

Thanks :D

Wow ! That's an awesome puzzle game ! I loved the idea, it perfectly embrace the theme with an original idea ! The music doesn't really fit, and I would have loved some little sound effects, but all the gameplay and level design is flawless. Congratulations !

Developer

Thanks :) I’m definitely getting a love it / hate it vibe on the music front.

@thomas loved the idea very similar to my Unlock, the art style was great too, I think it would be great to change the music probably something calm/soothing its just my suggestion, overall it a great one :D

A nice original way to take on the theme! The art style is clear and simple, which works great for this game. My only comment is that sometimes it feels like the weights will roll down along flat surfaces no matter how careful I am about placing them down gently and making sure the chains shouldn't be pulling on them weird.

But other than that, great idea and great game!

Developer

Thanks :)

Yeah- the chain is rigid and has weight, so there’s almost always going to be some force. I expect that could be better tweaked, though; hopefully it didn’t cause too much frustration :)

Nice job, very refreshing idea and very fitting to the theme! Had a lot of fun playing, nice one!

Fun little puzzler. I love the take on the theme. I like the hand-drawn graphics. Just not sure about the drumming. :-) Maybe hit the cymbals when a puzzle is completed ?

Developer(+1)

Thanks :)

There was a (very short) period of time when I thought I’d have the soundtrack generated by the ball and chain moving making drum kit noises. And then I remembered that two days is not a long time :P

Good game, I really liked art style. Very unusual idea to go with drums only for soundtrack. Chain and ball physics can fill a bit clunky sometimes, but overall it was a fun experience.

Developer

Thanks - I’m learning the drum sound track is a bit marmite :)

Nice art style and great concept! Great Work.

Some sound on collision would have been nice, same with an unlocking sound when finishing a level. I personally like to record something with my phone, you can get something decent without much effort that way!

Also, the chain seems to be a little stiff, you can push objects up with it. Maybe there are some parameters you can tweak.

Developer(+1)

Cheers - and thanks for the feedback :)

Really fun puzzle game!  Level design felt on-point: challenging enough to be engaging, but not too challenging to be rage-inducing, and the levels guided you very smoothly through the mechanics of the puzzle.  I liked the simple hand-drawn art style.  Overall nicely polished and well done!

Developer

Thanks- I’m glad you had fun and happy I didn’t end up inducing any rage :D

It's a bit difficult but really fun. The idea is really good and i love the handdrawn artstyle. Nothing to complain about! (It's possible to solve level 4 without the maze by swinging the chain, was that supposed to be the case?)

Good Job!

Developer

Thanks :)

That’s definitely not the designed solution for level four; but when it comes to physics-based puzzles, I guess anything that works is a solution - so kudos there :D

It felt a bit tricky at times but it's a cool concept ! Reminded me of those inside locks on doors sometimes ^^

Hehe- thanks!

What a pretty and pleasant game. Reminds me of old flash games. Everything comes together nicely, between the art style and the game play. Great job!

Developer

Thanks :) Glad you liked it!

This is a pretty pleasant game actually. I wouldn't say its anything outstanding or revolutionary, but it definitely let me sit through the entire game and rack my brain a little bit.

Some good things:

Outstanding art style here. The drum solo was a bit jarring but I kinda got into it after a bit. Gives it that jazzy vibe which fits well into the game actually. Love it!

Ultra simple gameplay that doesn't need to teach more than neccesary. Love it.

I also think you've done a good job optimising the physics and making sure the interactions are not as janky as they would be when dealing with mouse-control related physics. Good job! It lends itself to a pleasant playthrough.

Some caveats:

I don't really have any major criticism of the game, which is itself an impressive feat of a design. If I were to have a caveat, it would be that I am frustrated this game is not as popular as it should be (though mind you, 60 votes as of this writing is amazing!)

I 'could' suggest you to add more variety in the puzzles by having more mechanics like spikes or rotating platforms, but I think wouldn't be fair as this was made in a time constraint. And you've actually done relatively great puzzle design with your mechanics as is.

Overall, great game! Like what Blank_Slate119 mentioned, this can definitely expand into a micro game of sorts, if you grab a team together and expand on it, could work as a mobile game?

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback :)

I’m glad you had fun playing it, and I’m happy you think that (with a bit more variance) it could be expanded out into something bigger!

Amazing game. I love the handrawn artstyle that feels like it came right out of a notebook. I especially love the creative level design and unique mechanic. Amazing game that I could 100% see becoming a successful casual game in the future if given more levels.

Developer

Thanks a lot - glad you had fun with it :D
