Challenging game! Having to manage the controller power level as well as the direction definitely added an extra level of complexity.

This is a really good entry that executes the concept well. My one critique is that the 'control' bar probably shouldn't be a slider. I kept trying to move it around at first, thinking it was how to control the drone :)
I finally got around to playing your game and was not disappointed. The atmosphere you've created is truly amazing and the game play is super fun!
One thing you could do to improve down the road would be to add a tutorial section that teaches how to play the game instead of just text boxes. You could turn off the fuel limit and just let the player go crazy.
Good job on this in general and good luck on future projects!
Hey Ian!
Thanks for your feedback! Messing around with the sounds, effects and post processing was a lot of fun to try to get a mood going.
We definitely want to add a few tutorial levels, the map you played was a prototype to build features on and we never had time to design any levels before deadline so we just had to go with it. :D
Thanks again for checking out my game, happy to come check out yours. Others have covered a good amount of my feelings but I'll be happy to give some feedback about the GUI. I think it could benefit from an art style that gives off a greater feeling of urgency when it begins to become more out of control. Its something I hope to work more on with my own game as well.
I also think giving a bit more personality to the drones could really help give me more of an incentive to want to go assist other drones. This could be a mechanical difference in how they move, different sounds for each of them, or really anywhere else your minds take you. Its a great starting point and I'm glad to have gotten to see it in its early stages. Hope you improve on it more in the future.
Hey BenNBen!
Thank you for your feedback!
I agree! Maybe the gui could "deteriorate", plutter or dim when the control is low. Alarms can maybe go off with "warning!". just not overdo it - there are a lot of sounds already so it all needs balance.
I love the idea of the three drones having personalities. To begin with thtis can be different color schemes / colored eyes and response sounds, but in the long run, maybe they can have different capabilities and you can choose which ones to deploy to accomplish different parts of the mission!
Keep in touch!
Hey guys! Thanks a lot for all the super useful feedback so far!!
We are getting a lot of pointers on how to improve and what we should think of if we are to port this to mobile and build on it.
We have gotten feedback so far on:
- game size (most likely this is due to audio files)
- difficulty tweaking (cost of having B active, radar spinning speed etc.)
- camera control to see around the drone and aim better
- the control slider indicator is unintentionally interactable. it is only meant as an indicator.
More of this! All feedback is welcome! Also we would also like to hear more
- about how the tactics of using drones to sweep parts of the map and using the second third drone to rescue it feels?
- how is the GUI? how can it be improved? (other than slider and art style which will be improved)
Intresting game, maybe not enough forgiving, going to the door took me much more tries than it should have ^^, good job !
Also as other mentionned, the game size is too big for no real reason, it is probably because of the music you used because deleting the file "FinalBuild/Drone_Data/sharedassets0.resource" ( 354 Mo ) let me run the game properly without music.
Hey bl4st!
Thanks for dropping in on the game!
If we decide to take the game further we will definitely work on the difficulty. Shouldn't be too easy either, haha. We are looking into giving the player control over the camera so they can aim better. Would this help you think? Is the radar too small or could it be done in a different way?
We didnt have time to optimize so your prob. right about the audio files. We will have to compress or find other ways to make the game smaller if we are to port it to mobile.
Thanks for all the input!
Had some fun playing the game,
As others have mentions, file size is a bit big, for such a game.
Didn't have any problems though.
I missed some way of looking around,
if you slide into a corner, you can't really aim anymore as you only face the corner.
Also the sliding was a bit odd, a animation would look better,
but I guess thats because of time limitation
Other than that, great work
>Hey Bluegru!
We are looking into optimizing sizes.
We also think giving the player control over the camera rotation would be cool. It gives more control, but at the same time it also shows off the drone model and the maps better. It is possible to get out of corners, but yea you cant really see where you're heading atm :P This should be addressed.
Regarding sliding. Could you be more specific? is it when is slides along a wall and into a room that its weird or the forward "sliding" movement? Is it the movement itself or that its not animating forward?
Thanks for the feedback.
Sure,
Not sure if it was a bug, but when the Drone moved forward, it just slid without any animations.
To be honest, I'm not really sure what animation I'd put on the drone, but having nothing just felt a bit off.
Maybe a bit of Up and Down movement to simulate hovering? With a synced sound.
The sliding on the wall was benefiting me most of the time,
but I'm not sure if you want this in the game, just feels weird
Took me a little bit to figure it out, but once i did i had fun. I really like the mechanic of sliding the drone around the level, Great work!
I don't know if i should use the "B" button for anything or just push it once and than use only mouse. The Control slider is possible to move, so i thought that i could refill control with it. I like the concept tho:)
Hey Satsugi!
While B is online, you will be losing control over time. The idea is that you will need to turn it off while you are cruising along. I definitely think it could use some tweaking so that its more scathing to leave it online while not using it.
Good catch! I didnt realize the slider was interactable. We have added this into our backlog.
Nice game, great concept, but the file size is pretty big. I've been downloading the game for like 5 min, people probably won't like this. Besides that, the game had a very unique and intersting game mechanic. Great game, it makes me go YES!
First of all, the game is kind of heavy. It wasn't so much of a problem for me, but I can see many people to click off just because of the file size.
Secondly, the game itself is quite interesting. It looks visually appealing, and is funny. Although, i feel the controls are a little bit uncomfortable sometimes, like the way it was following the mouse was a little confusing, but I could get used to it. But apart from that, the game has a good concept to work with, keep it up!
Hey @AtymTima!
We have noticed the size issue as well and will optimize the game if we decide to move forward with porting the game to mobile.
When you say following the mouse, what do you mean? The drone follows the direction that the spinning red radar under the drone is pointing in when you click, but if that's not clear we need to work on our UX. Would it be more intuitive if the command button was the spacebar instead of a mouse click?
Thanks for the feedback!
I always prefer the keyboard input over the mouse in most cases, but it's just my personal preference. Maybe you can add customizable input system and allow the player to use what he/she prefers more? Sorry I wasn't clear with my comment. I mean it took me time to understand where the drone is going to, but maybe I was just "small braining," I think most people wouldn't have the same struggle as I did ahah. But polishing UI is always good, though :)
Hello Brightfield!
I loved the design of the drones and the mechanics were great as well! The only problem I faced was my drone getting stuck at the corner of the level. I could not understand how the mouse guided the drone, as it just seedm to me to randomly dash somewhere.
My computer was also suffering a bit so since you were aiming to go for mobile, I do not know if any issues might arise from the file size.
Well done and good luck!
Hey @Spoonsweet,
Thanks for dropping by and testing out our game!

Oops! I never noticed the laser on the bottom!
Maybe introducing an empty level as a tutorial would be a good idea? With all the main mechanics in place, just allowing the player to propel and explore the movement until it was understood. This way you can partition some of the text and show it a step at a time, so its not all too bunched up!
Nice! For a jam game, this takes up a lot of space. Generally speaking, you want to try and make it a browser game, as most players just don't want to download anything to play your jam gam, but, great job! Here's mine https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/697413 feel free to check it out :)
Hey @N8_Dev,
Thanks for dropping by and testing out our game!
We have noticed the size issue as well and will optimize the game if we decide to move forward with porting the game to mobile. Next jam we will also be running it in the browser to attempt to get more people to play it. I personally feel less encouraged to try the game if I have to download anything at all :)
Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to trying out your game!
The controls are really hard to see. The pointing red line could be on top of the drones and move a bit slower. Other than that you still managed to make a 3d game on such a short scale. Nice.
