Super cool art. There were a lot of games that did this sort of switch up controls thing, but I think yours pulled it off pretty dang well. I will say that because the controls were only switching when I went down the colorful pits, my brain associated only that with control switching. Therefore, when control switching was revealed to be related to the color of the platform, I had no idea what was going on for a while, especially since it was thrown into the middle of a tricky platforming segment. Also, I wish it had some sound :) Anyway, great work!

Thanks for playing and commenting, I'm really glad you enjoyed Swigglio! That's an interesting point about signalling the control switching - I had thought about adding in some mini versions of the colourful zigzags where we switch within levels but it ended up completely slipping my mind - when you're used to the game it's easy to forget not everyone will link the control changes to the same visual cues.

the art style reminds me of traditional media (mostly watercolor)

love the feel of the game and how it gradually shifts to different controls

good job!

This game is beautiful, and it was a very zen experience… most of time. Whenever I was in immediate danger my brain decided to shutdown and revert to the default control scheme on the arrow keys, leading to hilarious failures, but having the checkpoints really pushed me forward with the game.

The art really feels like a cohesive whole (squiggly animated lines particularly great), and really pulls the whole atmosphere of the game together.

I sometimes wished that the controls were a bit tighter, and a bit faster, but that might detract from the whole zen vibe you have going on.

Awesome job!

Thanks for your comment, João! We experimented a bit with the controls early on because initially we felt the same, that they could be a bit tighter, but in the end I think it all pulled together with the feel of the game. And we wouldn't want you to be able to zoom past all the lovely artwork too quickly!

Really amazing art! I do wish the base controls were a little tighter. But this is one of the most polished games I've played so far.

Wonderful game ! The idea is quite popular in the jam but still well executed here. And the art... so amazing! It hooked me till the end !

Although the changing controls idea has been a popular one in this jam, this one still feels unique! Love the artstyle, and figuring out and adapting to new controls every level was quite fun! Some fittingly ambient music and sfx could have helped polish it, but this is a jam after all :D

Thanks very much for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed Swigglio! I absolutely agree, we'd love to find some music to match, it would create a really rich experience - maybe next time we'll add a team member to find/make us the right track :)

No word of a lie! Here’s my two year old niece’s addition to our brainstorm (the cats were her request). Glad you enjoyed the game 😊

Thanks! 😄 it was inspired by a toddler’s “out of control” contribution to our brainstorm 👶 🖍
