A game made by people who make game development tutorials, Now that is enjoyable😎

Very nice game, reminds me of tomorrow corporation games (aestheticaly wise).  The feeling of not being under control was very clear on this one. Well done!

Stunning visuals as always! Your tutorials helped me get to where I'm currently at in game development! Loved the game, but I actually wanted to let the pyro kids play with the fire, lol

Developer

Haha found the pyromaniac

Submitted(+1)

The game fits the theme perfectly and captures the essence of "out of control" in the most perfect manner imaginable. The one gripe I have with it is that you don't exactly know what you are supposed to do at the start. That could be fixed with a simple message saying "keep all the kids safe" or something.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We tried to kind of do that in the narrative beginning comic but maybe we should have been more direct about it.

Love the pyromaniacs :D

Developer

Some of the kids sure find the fire a little too intriguing lol

Submitted(+1)

Well actually I didn't understand what I supposed to do.

Developer

Sorry, we could definitely have done a better job at tutorializing the game ^^ Thanks for the feedback

Remindes me of prison architect

Developer(+1)

Do you mean prison architect?

Hmm what does that say about our school system....

Submitted(+1)

yeah, meant prison architect

Looks great but I wish the game play was more fulfuling, it does however fit the theme very well. When playing I was waiting for something more interesting to happen but I ended up aimlessly spamming the pick-up button and walking to whatever child had a speech bubble.

Developer

Yeah from a pure mechanics standpoint, it's not really that great, I agree. We tried making it fun through the experience and contextualization. Won't work for everyone of course :) Thank you for the feedback!

This game is more stressful than taking part in this game jam. :D

Developer(+1)

For us, this game WAS taking part in this game jam ;)

Submitted(+1)

This game gives me so much anxiety... I love it

Developer(+1)

Haha sorry about that!

Submitted(+1)

who doesn't like throwing childeren

Developer

Probably the children

throwing children simulator 2020

Developer(+1)

The throwing made the game soo much better when we added it :D

That's the third game I have the following problem with and I think it's THE problem people have when making a game in which you have no control: giving the player the feel to effect something.

Developer

Yep, definitely a tough challenge to get decent player agency with this theme. In the end, we decided that the feeling of control loss mattered more than strictly effective gameplay.

Really amazing...

Submitted(+1)

yeah, this is going to win presentation for sure.

Developer

Haha we couldn't possibly expect to win with so many great entries! Thank you for rooting for us though :)

This is so chaotic, holy crap! If there were a game that would define the theme the best, it would be this game, the situation gets out of control in the blink of an eye. The game was so hard! Nice game, I love your videos by the way!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you found it to be so fitting :)

This is a good idea, and with the right execution, it could be entertaining. Unfortunately, in this state, it's not fun to play. The kids seem to behave completely randomly, switching states with no tells. It's hard to see where you are if there are too many kids crying in one area. It can be tough to tell which child you're picking up. It might need extra 'juice' to make everything feel good. The sounds are irritating. It definitely fits the theme.

Developer(+1)

Noted! Thank you for the feedback and thanks for playing!

Submitted

No problem!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, these kids hate each other

Developer(+1)

They don't mean it. Some of them are just a bit aggressive :D

Submitted(+1)

This game is very well made, and I don't think anyone will want to have kids after playing. (haha) I love how some children just decide that they want to be on fire. Fantastic game, as per usual!

Developer

Haha the fire is sooo intriguing. Let's play with it... Oops :D

I truly felt out of control while playing this, I felt fine in the beginning but near the end of the day almost everyone was fighting. My final score was -4762 lmao. Despite the chaos this game was surprisingly fun to play because of it's atmosphere and polish. Could use some more balancing but other than that well done!

Developer

Wow that must be the lowest score I've seen yet... uh... congratulations? :D

Yeah with a theme like this it almost feels like you can sort of get away with a lack of balancing. For a different context, we'd surely have to balance it differently!
