The obtuse controls are fun but the unclear hotboxes for the deer and edge of the road make it feel cheap to die by a crash.

The mood is done really well, I wanted to get further so i could see if anything else happens as you get further, but i couldnt even get past 500 ft.

I feel like the distance is rather interesting too. if it takes me this long to drive 500ft safely, i feel like i would have gotten out of the car and started running.

I never found myself using the break since steering slows you down so much.

Good notes.  And yeah, I'm not sure why you're in the car in the first place.  Its super muddy and there are scary things about, wouldn't you rather be in an unreliable car?  ;-).  Thanks!

Turning on the light and starting the car was a neat little effect. I liked that a lot. While the car controls are frustrating (and that's what you're going for), the more frustrating part felt like the limits of the play space were not clearly defined. I wasn't sure I wasn't able to move because the car was at the limits of the play space or because the car sucked. I can deal with one of those, but having to deal with both made it more frustrating than challenging. A fine line to walk!

Really neat atmosphere! Nice pixel art and a cool concept! Car was frustrating to control but that's probably the point

Yeah, I mean I think we wanted it to feel a bit better but in the end I think it got where we originally imagined it.  Thanks for commenting!

Cool concept, a little too hard to master the controls, sad the game its in a tiny window.

Thanks for the comments!  It should take up the whole box, I'm not sure why it isn't... I tried tweaking the size of the box on the itch page, but I must be missing something in the engine.  I'll see if I can fix that so folks can see it better!

I like how atmospheric the game despite the tiny window. Starting the car and the light really help build the creepy atmosphere. Turning with the car is a bit tricky though.

I didn't know about quadplay, looks like an interesting fantasy console!

Well done.

Developer

Thanks!  Quadplay is great for game jams!  I'll add a link to the game description, but if you're curious its here: https://github.com/morgan3d/quadplay

I like the sounds and the fact that you need to hold letter g in order to start the game.

684 ft. Kinda fun. The white deer on the left is a creepy touch.
