Pretty well polished game overall. The arrow pointing to the dog helps a bunch and it was nice to mow down hoards of zombies with the weapons. Super game! :]
Was pretty good overall. Think it might have been better if the zombies were after you as well as Howard. Maybe human zombies for the human, and dog zombies after Howard, and you have to manage both of them as the game goes on? It just felt a bit weird that the zombies were only after Howard.
Enjoyed the game, the shop was an important part since I discovered that zombies didn't hurt the dog when I was far from him. The movement velocity downgrade when I bought the bazooka was a cool detail.
I've found some things that could be improved like camera movement. It would be better with a smoother movement and some kind of delay when following the player.
Thanks for playing my game and your fair comment! :)
A lot of players had a bad experience with my camera... The thing is that it actually SHOULD be smooth but it shakes at every bite the dog gets and in periods where ist gets bitten a lot it looks like the camera is failing! Definetly something i will work on xD
Intuitive control, cute dog art style, and fun shop upgrade mechanics.
Some suggestion for improvements: I liked that holding the mouse spawns attacks, but it would be nice if the player managed to do at least one full hit if you click it once (instead of holding). Also, the camera is a little bit uncomfortable (since it's quite fixed), but overall, I liked the models and the game, the dog was cute!
Really enjoyed this! Nice to see bucket-headed zombies in a game again :P
Great game, you managed to get a lot done. Great graphics and good variety in weapons and enemy design. I feel some more sound effects would really help. Keep up the good work 👍
Great game! It worked really well and was quite polished! :)
For me personally the game would feel a bit better if it was a bit faster to give the player a stronger sense of urgency. But you did a very good job with the overall game!
Amazing work, really!
Quite some depth and variety, plus very neat animations ! For a 2 day project solo project, the width and depth of the project is remarkable.
Bravo!
The game was really well done! I did not feel much of a out of control but still enjoyed it!
Me: MOVE DOG YOUR GOING TO DIE!
Dog: Na fam I'm good.
Really great game, especially for a solo developer doing art and music. The graphics are nice and clean and the game controlled really well. I was surprised by how well it worked, especially for a browser game.
Design: The core gameplay loop was fun, but needed a few small tweaks to really shine. Some attacks had great impact, like the bazooka, but I would have pushed it further. Screen shake and more sound effects for every hit would give the game extra juice.
Graphics: Wonderful work here. Only thing that might be needed is to hide the trees in front of the camera, which got in the way at times.
Theme: I wish you would have pushed the theme further. The risk/reward mechanic always made me want to not take the risk and just protect the dog. The only times I choose not to were when I was forcing myself to have fun. I agree with the other comment that breaks would have been nice.
Cool game, I feel like there need to be a period of rest where it is safe to go to the shop.
I loved how the map feels large! I had a lot of fun running after the dog, lol
I think more zombie variety would be very nice, though
Thanks for the game and the nice time playing it :)
Hey beautiful people,
I am the solo developer behind "Come Here, Howard!" and this is my first game jam and also the second game i ever finished.
With participating in this jam my main goal is not to win or get attention, I just want to learn!
It would mean the world to me if you guys could give me a fair comment on this game and maybe even some tips and trick on what i could do better!
Thank y'all! :)
