This was such  fun little game!!

I enjoyed yelling random nonesense, and was surprised how well it recognized what i was saying. I feel like you could've went even further with the voice commands though! Give me more stuff like "sad vegetable" pleeeaassee!

Honestly, at first I didn't really understand what I was doing, but It was satisfying to hear stuff happen once I used a command. After a few tries I figured out that each monitor was showing a specific area and it made it easier to navigate around the prison.  I think my top score was either 49 or 50 prisoners however no matter what i tried, I couldn't save Randy. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

There's probably some way to make it more obvious on what you're supposed to do. And I didn't realise immediately that the blue dudes were the guards, but perhaps its just me being a bit stupid.

Overall, this was probably one the most fun games i've played so far, congratulations! I wish more games played around with voice controls. :)

Thank you so much for your feedback, Nick!

We are glad you enjoyed our game and we agree 100% with everything you said. If we were to do further work on the game, we would definitely make it more clear to the user the different functions of the game like the guards and searching for the voice commands. Also, we discussed the potential of different prison layouts as well as creating more difficult and randomized puzzles to obtain the voice commands!

Seeing your comment has definitely made the game jam worth while!

Thanks again for the kind words!

Hey NickNoobles,

Thank you for such positive feedback! I am extactic to hear you enjoyed our game!

50 prisoners is a pretty good score! There are 72 prisoners (including Randy),  so you are getting the majority of them out! Randy is randomly placed amoung the 3 cell blocks. During our testing, we found that some cell blocks had an easier time getting Randy out than others because of how the guards were patroling.

If we were ever to pursue making more levels for this game, I would definitely add more silly commands like 'Sad Vegetable"!  Like you mentioned, its a lot to take in at first, and you're not quite sure what to do. If we had more time, I would have liked to give the player more feedback on if a command was recognized or not.

I can't wait to check out what you made for the game jam! Thanks again for such great feedback! :D

Best,

DevPhoenix
