Really neat game with some really well thought through dialogue. My game did crash a few times on the "What would you do if you had enough money to quit your job question" but other than that the game felt very polished. The score font in the game screen did seem quite unprofessional compared to the absolutely beautiful background but that is a really small detail. Overall the game was really creative, fun and the music was amazing, great job!
Thank you! Yeah, changing the game engine font to something a bit more unique was one of those things that just got squeezed out as we had to prioritise getting the core game to work! As is, all the menu text is just saved out as PNGs from Photoshop xD Glad you enjoyed it despite the various hiccups, and as the artist, I'm happy you liked the backgrounds!
I would really recommend this game! well done - I played it 3 times until I managed to impress her !
I was laughing my head off on this one. Really funny concept! Would love to play a further version of this where you get more dates after a successful one and the curse is a bit different / harder every time. The endboss / enddate could be Crushendo himself :D
So "foraging with myself," was game over, but "murdering without you," gave me sultry eyes? I mean, I guess it's considerate not to bring them along for such daring adventures. In all seriousness, though, I really liked this style of dialogue, it made talking in a video game fun. Good work on the game!
Goofy game idea. I like the premise! I wish you at least had time to scroll through the options before the note played tho... sometimes they went really really fast. Great polish :)
Very funny and unique game! However I ran into a bug where when I failed, I restarted and the music stopped which made it impossible to progress.
Also for the love of all that is holy keep the permadeath bug it's hilarious.
this is such a funny idea i literally can't believe how well this works! also the fact that she doesnt speak to you if you fuck up is SO GREAT! i was crying laughing because of the dialogue :D GREAT game first game i gave 5 stars everywhere
This is hilarious and fun.
Bonus points for the evil magician's name, Crushendo, which is genius.
I'm commenting to tell you that you need to keep that permadeath feature where a date is ruined even after you try to start again
Such a cool idea and execution!Very simple and easy to play, but very fun! I love it!
Wow, very impressive visual and music for the time we had ! i like the idea, but i failed to impress my date :'(
I'm so impressed with the art and music of this game, especially with timing the melody to the dialogue timer (I can imagine that might've taken a while to get right)! I had a problem with trying to play again after losing, either it would go to the "We shouldn't continue with this date" screen, or the music would stop and thus the dialogue would freeze. It was alright though, I could close the game and reboot it easily. Anyway, very bold doing a dating sim in a game jam, especially one this unique, but it definitely paid off!
Nice idea ! Maybe a bit difficult to control, sometimes, i was robbed out of choices because the timer. Anyway, artstyle is pretty cool also
A really cool idea, and I made it to the end (though I'm not entirely sure how after accidentally telling her that my hobby was sleeping with friends). I'd have liked it to be a little more obvious how much time you have. Other than that it was pretty cool
Thanks for playing! Your other answers must have been pleasing to get away with that blooper xD
In an ideal world we would have had a visual timer as an accessibility option, but playing without certainly leans into the Jam theme! As is, the time limit got us in the end, nevertheless, glad you enjoyed it!
