Thank you! As the artist, I'm glad you thought our game looked good!

Really neat game with some really well thought through dialogue. My game did crash a few times on the "What would you do if you had enough money to quit your job question" but other than that the game felt very polished. The score font in the game screen did seem quite unprofessional compared to the absolutely beautiful background but that is a really small detail. Overall the game was really creative, fun and the music was amazing, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah, changing the game engine font to something a bit more unique was one of those things that just got squeezed out as we had to prioritise getting the core game to work! As is, all the menu text is just saved out as PNGs from Photoshop xD Glad you enjoyed it despite the various hiccups, and as the artist, I'm happy you liked the backgrounds!

Accidentally said i would sell my child XD. Really funny game lol

Developer(+1)

Oh no, possibly the absolute worst combination! Glad you enjoyed it!

I would really recommend this game! well done - I played it 3 times until I managed to impress her !

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you were successful in the end xD

I was laughing my head off on this one. Really funny concept! Would love to play a further version of this where you get more dates after a successful one and the curse is a bit different / harder every time. The endboss / enddate could be Crushendo himself :D

Developer

Brilliant, glad you found our game so funny! I'm not sure whether the team want to continue working on this game or not, but there definitely is a lot of scope for expansion, even just from the things we had to leave on the cutting room floor!

Submitted

Very brilliant game. I had a nice date <3. Great work.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!

So "foraging with myself," was game over, but "murdering without you," gave me sultry eyes? I mean, I guess it's considerate not to bring them along for such daring adventures. In all seriousness, though, I really liked this style of dialogue, it made talking in a video game fun. Good work on the game!

Developer(+1)

Haha I can't comment as I ran out of time to contribute anything to the dialogue script myself, but I'm sure there's a logic to it! I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay, thank you for the comment!

Loved it

keep permadeath  it's only thing I can ask of

Developer

Thank you! I am sure that the now-beloved permadeath will somehow become a feature xD

Submitted(+1)

Goofy game idea. I like the premise! I wish you at least had time to scroll through the options before the note played tho... sometimes they went really really fast. Great polish :)

Developer

Yup, part of the game, *out of control* Made for replayability, but it may have been too fast xD

Submitted

yeah i hear that. more realistic that you don't have tons of time to think about responses :D

Submitted(+1)

Very funny and unique game! However I ran into a bug where when I failed, I restarted and the music stopped which made it impossible to progress.

Also for the love of all that is holy keep the permadeath bug it's hilarious.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! We have become very aware of the ending bug (especially after the GMTK stream xD), I am not the programmer but I'm sure we can find a way to keep the now-beloved permadeath bug alive! Glad that you enjoyed our game despite the issues!

this is such a funny idea i literally can't believe how well this works! also the fact that she doesnt speak to you if you fuck up is SO GREAT! i was crying laughing because of the dialogue :D GREAT game first game i gave 5 stars everywhere

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! 5/5 is high praise indeed. I'm glad that you found our game so incredibly funny!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Glad you found it that funny ^^

This is hilarious and fun.
Bonus points for the evil magician's name, Crushendo, which is genius.

Developer

Thank you! Credit for Crushendo goes to a good friend of mine, who helped me come up with an evil music mage name while I was too busy drawing assets to think straight!

Submitted(+1)

I'm commenting to tell you that you need to keep that permadeath feature where a date is ruined even after you try to start again

Developer(+1)

Yes, I just watched the stream archive and saw it for the first time despite working on it (I'm running a Mac RIP) and it is quite funny, in it's own way xD

Great concept and really charming!

Developer(+1)

Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!

Love the art! The chat options are great. Had a good laugh.

Developer

Thank you, warms my heart as the game artist to see you say that! Glad you had fun playing our game!

Submitted

Such a cool idea and execution!Very simple and easy to play, but very fun! I love it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed our game, there was a lot of struggle involved in refining the core mechanic xD

Submitted

Wow, very impressive visual and music for the time we had ! i like the idea, but i failed to impress my date :'(

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, sorry your date didn't work out :(!

As the artist, I'm glad you found my work impressive - I'm slightly surprised I pulled it off in the time available too!

Submitted

I'm so impressed with the art and music of this game, especially with timing the melody to the dialogue timer (I can imagine that might've taken a while to get right)! I had a problem with trying to play again after losing, either it would go to the "We shouldn't continue with this date" screen, or the music would stop and thus the dialogue would freeze. It was alright though, I could close the game and reboot it easily. Anyway, very bold doing a dating sim in a game jam, especially one this unique, but it definitely paid off!

Developer

Thank you very much! As the game artist, I'm very happy that you were impressed with the visuals. The composer and programmer worked super hard to make the game mechanic work, and sound good too! Glad you enjoyed playing, and found our game unique!

Submitted

Nice idea ! Maybe a bit difficult to control, sometimes, i was robbed out of choices because the timer. Anyway, artstyle is pretty cool also

Developer

Thank you! As the artist, I'm glad you found the visuals pleasing, and enjoyed the concept too!

Submitted(+1)

A really cool idea, and I made it to the end (though I'm not entirely sure how after accidentally telling her that my hobby was sleeping with friends). I'd have liked it to be a little more obvious how much time you have. Other than that it was pretty cool

Developer

Thanks for playing! Your other answers must have been pleasing to get away with that blooper xD

In an ideal world we would have had a visual timer as an accessibility option, but playing without certainly leans into the Jam theme! As is, the time limit got us in the end, nevertheless, glad you enjoyed it!
