The progression system is split into tiers, with abilities you get in each tier. Each time you unlock a tier, you get a random ability. The player is "Out of Control" of their build.

Really awesome! This was a lot of fun to play, simple but effective. It felt like a very substantial game, and is fantastic for a game jam submission. I think the balance could do with a bit of work, sometimes it's too easy and sometimes too hard (mainly the scaling of the enemies). I think this might be a result of the randomness of the upgrades (good idea, sometimes a little difficult to tell instantly what the effect was but the cumulative result was very satisfactory). A couple of maybe bugs: the shooting was a little off centre, which is a pain in a game that requires accuracy, and sometimes the closeness points didn't seem to be given even if I was right next to the enemy. Overall a really fantastic game that I enjoyed immensely, you should definitely continue development!

Thanks for the feedback! I probably won't continue development of this, as I have other projects I'm working on.

Do you have Java installed? You need it to run the game.

I enjoyed the game! The closeness points reminded me of DOOM, where you are rewarded for being aggressive. I also found a bug? Where caps lock freezes your movement. Great game though!

Yeah, I added the closeness points because it gives the player an incentive to not just sit back and shoot the enemies from afar, and instead go straight in and kill them close-up. With the caps locks thing, with the way Processing (the thing I used to make this) works 'a' and 'A' are considered different things. I could fix it, but I don't see it as big enough of an issue. Anyways, thank you for playing!
