This is a cool concept. Most of the obstacles seem to rely on a single tool, like the jump to get over a hurdle. This leads to a lot of cycling through actions until the necessary tool is available. I think the design could really shine through if more obstacles were designed such that multiple tools could overcome them, making it a game where the player has to adapt based on the tools available rather than just cycle for the right tool. Good effort!

It is a nice idea, but as many others have pointed out, it was often a matter of waiting for jump and laser to appear. It would have been nice to have real incentives for using them.

Good game any way :)

Neat idea! Small UX comment, I'd make the next move be visually visible on the character itself. So rather than having my eyes dash between the top left and the center of the screen, I'd only have to look at the character.

In a 48hr jam I'd say this is polish, but keep it in mind for future games :D
Great entry!

Neat idea, I understand the frustration of running out of time before you can implement stuff properly and all that. Spent most of the time standing still, dashing into walls, waiting for the jump to appear. A more useful dash/teleport aside, maybe consider some timed element? Anyways, keep up the good work!

The game was a little tough for a n00b like me :P But I'm not going to rate based on how bad I play, I'll rate the game on how well it was made :)

I think the ideas you created are very well thought out, and it's crazy that you were able to script so much in short of a time. The levels are forgiving if you fall off something, and the atmosphere is great!

My only thing is that I wish the dash function and the portal function were a little more used in the level design? I dunno, kinda feels like I'm just waiting for the jump and the lazer the whole time. Other than that, well done!! :)

Very chaotic game! Nice presentation, although the dash felt a little unnecessary most times. Perhaps if you could dash into enemies to destroy them? Neat concept!

To me, the switch between the jump and dash felt a little useless--if I got to a ledge I would just spam the button and I rarely dashed. It felt inconvenient. Other than that, you've got some good levels and I'd recommend more features to this little bot.

Yeah, the character really got out of my control =| I lost the game=)

I really love the concept for this and I'm grateful that it shows you what your next move is going to be so that you can still plan at least a little. My main feedback would be that the dash and teleporter, while theoretically excellent ideas, very rarely felt useful, so when they came up in the cycle it felt like a major disadvantage rather than an opening up new possibilities to change my plan. Perhaps the dash should hurt enemies or allow you to phase through them or something. Really nice job for 48 hours though!

Developer

ooo, phasing through enemies is a really good idea! The teleporter was mainly supposed to be used in more puzzle like levels but we never had the time to make them 😄. Although, to get some crates tou’ll need the teleporter

Good concept that could be expanded on further and with some refinement could become a really good game. Nice job!

Submitted

Pretty neat concept! If you ever expand on this adding even more moves to cycle through could get really interesting!

Nice!!!!!

Great job!!

Very enjoyable playthrough :D

I really enjoyed the concept of this one, but I felt like the dash and warp were a bit underused. It felt like I was skipping those every time they came up. Perhaps if you were able to shoot the warp upward and combo it with the dash to substitute for a jump, or something like that, it could add to the interest. Great game though!

Very good game! At first I didn't fully understand why I was getting hurt and moving. I thought the portal was just as larger bomb/stronger laser, but only when I looked at the top left did I realize that my abilities were switching. Nice work!

I liked the idea very much. At first i wanted to smash my keyboard because of the randomness, but afterwards I saw in the top left corner that you can see what the next button press would do, and that made everything a lot more fun. I would put that way more "in your face" cause it's a very important part of the gameplay.

Sadly, the random element is sometimes unforgiving and makes the game frustrating (exactly as in my own game). If you find a way to mitigate that and not leave everything to pure chance, this can actually turn into an awesome platformer.

Developer

Glad you liked it! I agree that indicators should be put in a better location so they're easier to see.

I think the randomness can be improved a bit by adding a limit to how many times something can happen in a row to eliminate the most annoying scenarios and also introduce some kind of mechanism that locks an action in place for a while so that for example the lazer can be used repeatedly, or something like that.

Not only a great Idea, it also feels very smooth to play, but random ;-)

Glad you liked it!

Game is really good, ramps up well and the mechanics are interesting. I think it could certainly be polished up to something really strong.

Developer

Thanks for playing!
