Fun game.
I did feel the movement speed was a bit fast for how close the camera was. I also wasn't sure if the sound was supposed to sound like that at first or if it was glitching in a loop. Also, the sound off button didn't seem to do anything when I tried it.
Still, you got tons done in the time frame, and good job!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Yes definitely agree that the camera should be fixed because it’s hardly playable when moving up or down, you just run into a roboter without warning. Yes, the sound button mysteriously stopped working when we uploaded it. Thanks for playing it and the feeback :)

I had a lot of fun with your game. Really nice!

Developer

Thank you for playing it, I am glad you enjoyed it!

That was pretty fun, made me think about all the times I threw my axe in God of War.

Do you have any aspiration to continue development of this game?

Developer

Thank you very much for playing it and for the question as well!

Initially we decided on no, but I've been thinking about it more and more. Mainly, to go through that process at least once while we have the chance. Through the process of making, releasing, and incorporating feedback that is.

If we polish it, we'll surley post about it. So, if you're interested, you can follow us on twitter @BromberryG :)

It was a very fun game. Maybe zoom the camera out a bit so I can see more though?

Here is my game if you want to rate it: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/463297

Developer

Yes, definitely thought that would be a good idea, can be very frustrating when running from robots only to run into one because you didn't see the other. Thanks for playing our game and for your feedback, we'll be sure to play and rate yours!

Fun but challenging, I had an issue running down the map and just being pounced on without warning. But other than that, it was a fun throwing the axe around with some nice particle effects.

Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing it :)

Pretty cool game! I liked the visuals though i must say it felt very weird (a monkey with years of training wielding and axe, fighting robots in some factory?), thats not to say that its bad though.

I think it should be a bit more responsive as the character would walk quite a bit after i've released the move key and maybe make it so the character would throw the axe faster as that killed me many times :/

Regardless, i think its a good, challenging game so well done!

Developer

He was raised by humans who were in the circus and who threw axes very accurately, and as they say: "Monkey see, monkey do." (I'm just kidding, that's a normal guy with goggles and jacket and stuff, but it's hard to see haha) Thanks for playing it and for the feedback! :)

Felt like a well executed PS1 game ^^

the only thing I would've changed is I would've made the controls a bit more responsive and snappy and make the player a bit safer while throwing the axe.

oh by the way, our game is also called the last axe :p check it out right here if you want to and have a few minutes to spare ^^

Developer

Haha yes The Nush already commented and we checked it out and rated it, all I can say is: You've had a great idea! :D

I love this kind of games, I just played one with a similar mechanic (a cactus) and it's really good!
I will make the attack faster, right now the enemies can kill you while the axe is being thrown and that gives the player the wrong game feel. You are not aligned with the players  perception and that melts the kinesthesia.
You should read this -> Game  Feel - Steve Swink (it will help you understand what's wrong)
Great job anyway! :)

Wow, thanks a lot for the recommendation, haven't heard of this book before and it sounds really interesting. Also, thanks for the feedback and playing our game at all!

This took me back to the PS1 days as it has a very late 90s feel! I really liked the idea of having one axe and lining the bots up to get multiple kills felt great! This has a lot of potential!!

Developer

Haha yes! Thought the same thing while makig it, thanks a lot for playing it!

Cool graphics, nicely done. However, the controls are a bit rigid and the attack could be a bit faster. It was hard to aim and got killed very easily. It has potential!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! We appreciate you playing our game :)
