I recommend add volume slider, RIP headphone users. :D

Well, I'm too bad for this type of games, but I really like the concept !
Switching between being the one that can be killed, and the one that killed brings tension and a sense of power !
Also, the arts and sounds are lovely !

I really like the color change. It's a good work on the aesthetics of the game :) I find it a little hard, but I really enjoyed playing it.

I also made a little video compilation of games from the game jam and you're in it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mJWndlAIwk

Not sure if I'm doing it wrong, but I don't seem to control where to shoot my character. Sometimes the dude was fired just for a rock to land on him. The mimic enemy was a great idea! Nice job overall.
Check our game! https://cerosware.itch.io/one-stick-shooter

Developer

WHen you enter the charging platform, an arrow appears that indicates where you will shoot your bullet. You can aim with the mouse. I also like the mimic idea, but the mimics currently are way too weak, as they don't pose any imminent threat for the player.

Overall very fun! But the hitboxes are a bit if-y.

Developer

Yeah, I tried to find a balance for the hitboxes, so the player has a bit of wiggle-room before the character is killed by an enemy while at the same time the hitboxes needed to be big enough so the player can quickly and correctly see what he is going to hit. I didn't really pull that of for some enemies... But I'm happy you had fun anyways!

Fantastic frantic fun. Genuinely couldn't ask for more in a 48 hour jam. My only criticism would be the difficulty curve but it's easy to misjudge that during a jam when the only testers are the game devs :D

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! I actually cranked up the difficulty shortly before submitting the game, as we both got used it and wanted it to be challenging. Maybe we overdid it a little, but now getting to 70 or 80 points is quite an achievement!

Really cool aesthetics and the game play feels good once you get rolling!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We also had a ton of fun testing it, once we got the movement to feel right!

The sound design is great and it looks awesome! I like that is has a pretty finished look.

The art is gorgeous and I really liked boss design, they were very interesting! Vey fun game!

Developer

Thanks! Creating all the different sprites for the game was quite stressful, but I'm glad people them.

Amazing game! Love it! Its really fun to play!

Pretty cool game. Would try to work around the difficulty though. Sometimes it borders on the side of unfairness. Regardless, I love the art and sound design.

Developer

Thank you! The game was meant to be difficult, but maybe we've overdone it a bit.

Really ran with the theme as mark would say! ^^   I love it 10/10 but if u complete stage 1 you could be hit by invisible bombs from stage 1 :/

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words!

Do you mean the fire bombs disappear after the red stage? That shouldn't happen... Happy to hear that it didn't spoil the fun for you, and that you had a good time with the game!

Submitted

Of course I had! Should add some more funny characters or something to work towards! ^

broke the points counter 10/10

Developer

Congratulations! During our tests we never managed more than about 70 points. How many did you get? We only noticed, that the counter can't properly display more than two digits after submitting the game.

Fun concept, solid gameplay, though I do agree with one of the other commenters, I think it's a bit too chaotic, I think either less enemies or flying farther so as to take more out at a time would really help the game overall. But, nice job!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! The chaotic feel is actually intended, but I see that it can be a bit overwhelming at times. Glad to hear that you liked it anyway.

Very pretty, good gameplay, a little too challenging tho imo (tried 10-ish times, never made it past yellow) maybe less enemies on-screen?

Developer(+1)

We actually cranked up the difficulty, about an hour before submitting the game, so you wouldn't see everything in your first run. But yeah, the Pinball-Bots can be jerks. Happy to hear, that you liked the rest though!

man, super nice! i love the idea of a load of enemies but only one type! and an extra point for it being monochromatic :D

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
