This is probably one of the more ambitious games that I played and I loved it. The controls are a bit stiff and confusing but I think it's great. The one thing I would note is that where you can and cant go with your current outfit is unclear. My first game I walked into a hallway and got warned that I wasnt allowed to be there and shot at, at the same time. Then I couldnt get the elevator to down and had to wait for the drones to swoop in and kill me. I would love to see you polish this up some more and take another crack at it. Thanks.

I'll admit in regards to the ambitious part, I didn't think it through too much and just went "F--k it, let's do it".
As for the elevator, you need to press E with the cursor on the control panel (with the wee lil yellow bit). This was suppose to be highlighted but time constraints mean't it didn't happen. For the uniforms i'll do more signposting. As for the controls, streamlining is in the process.
Nonetheless, glad you liked it!
Awesome, like a Hitman level! I enjoyed trying to figure out my way around and the order in which to do things to succeed. I really dig the art, the colours and tone and general vibe of the place is really nice, although I will say that the CEO was a bit unclear, I thought he was just another guard and I was confused. The controls were a little bit confusing, even with the explanations (probably because I skimmed over them) but after slowing down and reading them carefully everything worked and made sense. It made me feel smart when I figured out what I was supposed to do and killed the guy. Also, the game page is amazing, I love that you've made it in theme. Great work on this game!
Great execution! It is a little confusing in the beginning, but it got more and more fun the longer i played it. Very cool entry!
Interesting take on the jam! Didn't get far but found what I played enjoyable!
Papa Bear to Command, the task is over.
Command to Papa Bear, you're done, come home like a champ.
Delightful game, my tweaks would be to make the player run faster, a bigger mouse cursor (interacting with objects in your blue radius would be even better with only pressing instead of pointing) and a smother camera, but this is a good representation of Hitman in 2D, expanding on content with more possibilities and some red herrings would be nice but thats beyond the scope of a Jam.
Adherence to the theme, i think this is the weakest link of the game, the only one bullet thing doesnt come up until the end of the run and the gameplay is not really centered around the Only one topic.
Originality, its not totally an original concept but its execution in a Jam is.
Command to Papa Bear, stand by for debrief.
Thank you for playing, I plan to let the player run is in the works, along with a better tutorial and a scrapping of the need for a mouse (atleast, not extensively). As for the expansion... there may or may not be some in the works. wink wink
As for the theme, I whole heartedly agree. Originally it would have a much higher focus on the theme, with stealth mechanics and a bunch of guards everywhere - that you could not shoot. This proved hard to envision into a good game tho, and when the disguise idea came to mind... well....
Thank you for the in depth comment and playing!
Very fun game overall, even though I wish the walking speed was a bit higher.
What I don't really get are the different ways to succeed, since the straightforward way is 3 times faster than the rest, and killing the generator basically means getting the guard suit.
Is there a bug or is the guard suit allowing the passage at the construction site normal?
After I killed the lights, I didn't know what to do other than just go the straightforward way again.
Overall, a really good game, but a bit less points with the adherence to the theme and originality, since the game is obviously heavily inspired by Hitman, and the "one bullet" doesn't really define the game in any way.
Well, I think the best way for you to explain it is how to do the generator way
Get staff soup
Lax the construction worker and get his uniform
Get the gas and then spill wine on the staff guy to get his uniform
Re-enter the staff area and sabotage the generator. Then walk straight to his office and shoot him, no one will see you coming (haha shitty pun).
As for the guard suit, yep, it's basically the highest priority so you can go anywhere with it. As for the theme, when I realised this was a problem it was a lil too late, so out the window it went and with the project I ran. Thank you for playing and the very detailed comment!
Oh yeah and the walking speed, guess i'll let you run in the post jam version
There is a lot of potential for this game. There are just minor issues that I had while playing, but despite them this game is still great. I love the art and concept.
I'm a big Hitman fan, so this was fun to play!
We talked briefly in Discord about the cursor needing to be over things to interact with them. In my opinion, the game would've been improved without that.
It's also too easy to get shot at for entering a restricted area; most times, I didn't see the warning until I was already there. Coincidentally, NoClip's new Hitman documentary discusses how IO intended to change this about the Hitman games. I recommend watching it, it's really informative!
Something about this game really brought me back to when I was still discovering new levels in the original series of Hitman games. I found a few different leads for beating the game, though ultimately I just went with the simple method of disguising my way to the target.
Overall a fun game, and I would like to see a full version!
An actually pretty well done comment if I say so my self!
I actually though of removing the need for a cursor, since everything happened to be so far away. That was post jam however, but it is planned for implementation.
As for the restricted areas, I agree with you and was originally planning to signpost the areas, for example: A "staff only" sign for staff areas, and a large "Construction staff only" banner laying outside the site. This didnt happen due to time constraints sadly. I also watched the video and it was great! Maybe I should try out the "owner" part.
Finally, I kinda regret the disguise path I laid out. It made the game too easy and as mark said, the player will optimize the fun out of a game. I was gonna add special guard outside the door and have another part, but once again, time is a cruel master.
Thank you for playing, and i'll probably remake it into a better version!
Love the idea of a top down pixel Hitman game :) More of it please!
Really nice level design, the impression of being in an hotel is here.
The little interactions , like the one with laxative, are very pleasant to do :)
Also nice work on art, which is simple but still really efficient.
Nice little puzzle stealth game :) I think it would've been worth pointing out you actually have to hover the mouse over the person you want to knock out and disguise as, and also changing the player sprite to whatever you disguised as. Other than that, I had a bit of fun! :)
Great concept, fun little strategy game :) Took a little while to understand the interaction but got there in the end! :D
Imcredible big game for a jam, despite the simple, but adoreable art.
