really liked the atmosphere and sound.  Definiatley not my kind of game, as i will die alone :(

wish their was subtitles for the audio cos some of the audio files i couldnt hear. maybe that was the point, but still it was kind of hard to do.

dont have much more to say as i didnt solve the puzzle. I found it hard to get a foothold into the puzzle. Maybe it would be better to give an easy win, so i can start to feel like things were progressing, like maybe the first room you get right gives some audio feedback to say 'ah i got one right'.  Then again - this isnt really my kind of game so i dont know :S

I think the only one shot nature of this made it make sense, else you could brute force the puzzle by doing it a lot, and it made it really tense.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

And thanks for your valuable feedback too... I will definitely look into what you told... A small progression and correction of audio!

Glad you liked it!

Ok so this one is quite original with quite some atmosphere, i'm no good with solving puzzles so i did my best but couldn't figure it out so i died alone :(

Nontheless  i quite like the atmosphere, the old windows UI somehow adds to this, the investigation mechanics using computers in an immersive way kinda made me think your game as a Horror take on the old game "Spycraft"

Good job :)

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!

I will definitely check out 'Spycraft'

Yay, I made it! I must say, I really liked the one try mechanic. It made the victory feel that much better, and most importantly, it kept me on the edge of my seat. When I did finally feel comfortable with my answer, I double checked everything, out of the paranoia of failure. Without your no restart mechanic, I would have had no fear submitting the wrong answer, and would have brute forced a lot of my early, incorrect answers. This game consisted of epiphany after epiphany, and had some awesome little riddles, that were never too big to be confusing.

I will warn others though, there are a lot of red herrings, and a lot of things that seem clear cut, but are actually hiding secrets. In particular, the readme had info that confused me more than helped, but made sense with extra context, and close inspection of the language used. Also, almost all of the info can be used in some way, which was very neat.

Developer

Wow! You made it...!

Thanks for playing my game! I am glad that the game made u feel the way it was meant to be... Your comment made my day!

Im sorry, is this another game that only allow player to play once? how do you expect to proper assess the game when they have no idea how the game works? Rerunning the game doesnt work.

Developer

I am sorry iwansquall! But thanks for your feedback! Yes rerunning does not work because that is the connection to the theme and point of the game.

I understand your frustration... But I wanted to engage the player with the simple plot of the game, that is if you screw up, you are trapped forever.

About the understanding game part feedback... If players are not able to understand what to do... Then it surely is my mistake and I will try to implement the design properly.

But the point was... This game does not require any skill from the player... So understanding and improving the skill is not present here.

It is just like a simple memory game, so I executed it this way... The only one chance was executed this way to engage the player in the game and justify the plot.

Thanks for playing the game and giving your valuable feedback!

I really had to use my brain on this one. I was fun collecting all the clues and crossing information. You nailed the atmosphere, I really felt scared. Sadly I didn't get it right, and will be alone forever :(

It would be nice if after you failed it showed where I was wrong.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Thanks for your feedback too!

I wanted to have that mystery factor after you have failed.. So that it adds to the theme of the game.

But I also understand it frustrates players! Will definitely work on something alternative to that!

Interesting idea and good execution. The atmosphere is really creepy. I was so scared to play this game :|

Very nice :)

Thanks for playing the game!

Very great game!

You worked a lot on the atmosphere => background sound effects, refined UI, etc. And this is impressive for a jam entry.

Agreed about your limitation of "one window at once". This force to focus on the hints of the opened window and it's important.

According to theme, the ONLY ONE chance is brutal but it's interesting and give a lot a challenge.

I got free... but I cheated (I don't tell how to keep the surprise for the others). I really wanted to know where was my mistake. :p

Great job! :D

Developer

Thanks! Happy to hear you got free and did not die alone:p

BTW I really loved your game!!

Seems like I'm not the only one who died alone! This is hard, but the feel you got with this is excellent. I wasn't expecting to get engaged as much as I did. The old windows-y UI feels great. Sad to see the recycling bin was empty ;). I was hoping to find a secret in there to help me out. Very cool entry.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

Even I thought of using recycle bin for something... But totally forgot it:p.

Glad you liked it!

I really felt I only had one chance to be free and I really felt that puzzle sentation.

In my opinion, the game needs to be able to open multiple windows.

At the beginning, I couldn't read the text intro because was half cut. Although, intuitively, I passed the screen pressing "Space".

PS: I won.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game! And thanks for your opinion too.

I intentionally designed that you cannot open multiple tabs so that you have to remember clues from one tab.

I will look into the opening text and solve it. Glad you liked it!

The voice acting is a unique touch, well done! I also died alone, but I think I was near the solution...
English isn't my first language so that made the voice lines kinda hard to understand. Maybe an optional option for subtitels? But I understand, that it does really well for the atmosphear. :)

Developer

Thanks for playing the game Jonas!

Thanks for your feedback too! I will try to add subtitles for the game!

Glad you liked it!:)

Cool game! Unfortunately, I died alone. It would've been really convenient to be able to open multiple tabs at once. You got the atmosphere down perfect, and that was the best part of this game in my opinion :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!.. I intentionally made to open only one tab at a time so that you got to remember the clues.. As there are only a handful of them..

I am glad you liked it!

Died alone, good game my friend.   As said already the VA is a little low.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I died alone unfortunately, but I still used the computer in my room to write this comment. The game is well done, the desktop has a nice 90's vibe and the atmosphere is very chilling. The only problem I have is that the voice clips are very hard to hear (even with my ear phones and at a high volume). Other than, it was really enjoyable. Great work.

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!I will look into the audio problem and fix it

Submitted(+1)

A very difficult game I couldn't finish unfortunqtely. It's very interesting because of the only chance which makes the game even more stressful. I liked the desktop atmosphere, it was really well done. The only problem I saw was the vocals which were a bit low (in volume). Any way a very good game in my opinion/ Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!I will update the audio asap

Submitted(+1)

Dude, you nail the desktop Vibe, and damn it was hard

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Good work ! It looks like it is a real desktop ,and the game is really stressful ,beacause you have only one chance.

Well done !

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!

It felt like an actual desktop, good work. I also took the game more seriously because the single chance, I guess it felt like being trapped in a room :P

I got free, but I'm not sure I did it right. Image 6 has the rooms in grey, and I entered the shapes in the order from top left to bottom right. I'm not sure if I would have come to the same solution using the other clues I collected, but now I'm free ':D

Developer

Wow!Thats really cool...It was kept indirectly hinting at the answer to the puzzle. You did a great job!

Thanks for playing the game!

Wasn't corrupted for me! That was definitely a challenging puzzle! Very eerie vibe it gives off but I loved the challenge! Great idea using a computer desktop as the main mechanic!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad u liked it!!
