This is really nice! The atmosphere of the game is great, adn i really like the mechanic with the ligth bulb, Nice work!.

A little tip for future projects with Unity. When you are using the Input directly to move the character, remember to normalize the vector of the Input. That way your player will move at the same speed even if they are moving in diagonal.

Nice Work!

Thanks for the feedback!

And indeed I just went straight for a super simple controller and didn't account for speed-strafing. then went on with other task and never got time to clean it up. Thanks anyway :)

Really cool idea and awesome graphics :) Can't believe you got this done in two days.

Developer

Team of five and a lot of stress I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But really we left behind many things and the game is now lacking a lot of important stuff (like... sounds... and visual feedbacks on your actions...) so we're really proud on the result narrative/graphics wise but we could have done with an extra day ;)

Great atmosphere. Sounds are very spooky!

Developer

Yes indeed, we really wanted to emphasize this feeling :) Glad you liked it !

Great atmosphere. You guys really nailed the art, lighting and music. Didn't know it was possible to do that much in just 48 hours!

Congrats!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! We indeed worked hard on it and are really glad you appreciate our game that much!

Excellent take on the theme and extremely well executed. Great job.

Developer

Thank you very much! We greatly appreciate your feedback :)

A really cool game! Took me a bit to figure out the navigation but for a 48hr thing it's fantastic!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your positive comment :) We are really glad to hear that!

It's amazing to see what people can do with 48 hours, a given theme and fantastic game development skills. You  guys put a lot of effort into this game and all I can say is well done. Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! We're still recuperating from this weekend's effort actually ;)

Mesmerizing game, this game shows the potential of having a team working together, the art is breath taking, the code working like a swiss clock and the game design solid. My biggest gripe might be that there isnt much left to do, the atmosphere carries the tension for the first bit but once you realize there is no real danger you just run around trying stuff.

The story was good although not being a native english speaker hurts the game with some weird phrasing. What i would wish for is more game mechanics, but not every game is heavy on that and it might be not the game for me after all.

On theme it sticks to Only one lightbulb and delivers on that fine.

On originality i've seen many spooky Unity games because of the easy light manipulation, that said this one has by far the best atmosphere hands down would love to see more from this dev.

Developer

Hi, thanks for this thorough feedback, we're glad you enjoyed the ambience of the game as it is truly the main focus we had over the weekend :)

Not fully understand the story because my bad English...

But I like the idea and the moods in this game.

When you said it's a 3d game I did not expect it is a top-down-view game though.

Developer

Thank you :)

We're not native English-speaking either so maybe the English of the game is bad too ;)

And yeah there's a recent surge of top-down view in games like Hotline Miami and such, and we want to give this towering, high FOV feeling, and letting you see what the light hits or not, so we went for it

Really cool! The art and music both contribute really well to the sinister atmosphere; I really felt like I was in the mansion! The way you incorporated the theme is also very clever :) Overall, great job!

Thank you very much for your positive feedback! :)

This game's amazing. Such a fun mystery and evolving story. Great adherence to theme. Very fun puzzle mystery game. My small critique which is almost really a nitpick is that some clues can get pretty lengthy with small font which can take a while to read, and that time can cause the lightbulb to die out. It never really ruined the experience because most of the time there was another lamp nearby to take the place so that made it work for me, but just something to consider.

Developer(+2)

Hey, thank you for playing the game, very glad you liked it!

The thing is, I didn't fully realise that the size of the texts would be a problem until very late on sunday's evening, which was a bit too late to fix it XD. I tried to stay under a strict maximum of 1k characters but it was still too much. Still happy you appreciated it, though!

As for the lightbulb dying out... yeah, same issue here, we couldn't test the game until very late, and though it was a good idea on paper it is maybe a bit too harsh in game. Yet playing it we still felt it was adding to the tense ambient of the game rather than ruining it, so we decided to keep it - not that we would have had the time to fix it anyway x).

Again thank you for you kind message from all the team!

Nice ambience you've got going there, impressive length and content in such a small time! The light is bright enough to see the room but as the same time faint enough to really put you on the edge, nicely done!

Developer

Thank you! We are really glad to hear that :)

Cute little game, have seen others use the Only One Light source for there horror games, but nice idea to go with you have to transport a light-bulb to different lambs to get light. I will say it does feel like it can be a little tedious, Also feel there should be more indications on what lamb has the light bulb, you did make the light red when the power goes out, maybe you should have the lamps be empty cycles to indicate they don't have a light build on/in them. Also more indication of danger would be welcome.

P.S. the music in this game is an alternate vision of the music that I used in the Game Menu of the first main game that I posted on Itch.io

Developer

Hi, thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review :)
We did indeed lack the time to implement proper feedback (mostly, sound feedback). We planned to have signs that lamp sockets were empty/broken/about-to-break, as well as properly showing how the switchboard was the way of reparing broken sockets. Also signaling when a door has been open would have been great but we ran out of time sooo fast T_T

We may update the game with sound effects and more feedbacks once the jam is over though :)

Submitted(+2)

I liked the concept. I wished there were sound effects. I liked the mystery mood the game creates a lot and the game music fits this theme well. I enjoyed the fact that the game has a story. You don't see many people do stories in 48h game jams.

Thank you for making this game! I really enjoyed it!

Developer

Thanks a lot! We really appreciate your feedback!
