Only one sprite was used to make this tough and tricky Splatformer. Can you get to the end of the level?

Good  and rather challenging entry.
Visuals are simple but perfect for this type of game . Neons always go pefectly with Electronic music. Nice combo there!
Do you think ghost triangles could be of a different color? or a bit dimmer? It might be just me but I get confused at starting.
It might be just me but I would have included check points. It's too challenging sometimes, but on the other hand, that's the fun part of it, being challenged.

I did enjoy it quite a bit.

Here's mine if you can spare some time playing it. Many Thanks:

WOW! I absolutely LOVE this game! I love the art style, and the audio is FANTASTIC! The concept you have here is incredible! I love how you can essentially help yourself out, and decide when to use your pulse. This is an incredible strategy-platformer game where you can choose to either hold your breath and take a step into the darkness, or use that one-time-only pulse and possible regret it later. The only thing I think this game needs is some checkpoints, and possibly a tutorial as well. Other than that, I'd say that if you add some more levels, you should release this as a full game on Steam! I'm serious, the concept is incredible and the execution is top-notch! Amazing work, I really hope you get featured in the video! :D Yo got a 5/5/5 from me :) Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you very much for such a comprehensive feedback.
We are really considering such an option and perhaps in the near future we will be engaged in implementation.

You're very welcome :)

I'm glad to hear that! I am looking forward to playing an extended version of this amazing game :D

Neon style with a great EDM background music. In combination with the gameplay, brings fun.
In my opinion, the only thing I would add are checkpoints.

Thank you so much.
Our team actually thought about checkpoints but our votes was splitted))

Wow, I love this game. This is one of the best I've played so far, I looove that you made something visually compelling with only one sprite.

I wasn't entirely sold on the "dark level" idea until I realized that you got to see what your past lives did - that's super cool and adds a whole new layer to the game! There was a genuine suspense and curiosity in exploring the dark level, and I think you're on to something here. Maybe after the jam you hide extra "impulse" pickups around the levels, providing more exploration and a chance to play with that mechanic more.

The player character felt a little clumsy, and I'm not sure it was registering all my jumps, so that's a spot that you could focus on re: polish!

Check out our game Einnsámr too :) https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/463168

P.S. - I'm a game audio professional, and I do declare that those are some phat beats if I've ever heard 'em!

One sprite is pretty hard to try and make a game with haha, nice work with this ;)

Developer

Thank you!

Original game with a lot of potential .It mix very well a lot of ideas related to the theme (only one level , only one sprite ...).

Well done !

Developer

Nice to hear. Thank you so much!

Single sprite - nice! Second game I've played that uses that idea (I thought there would be lots more to be honest!). The use of one sprite makes the levels quite easy to read once you know what all the colours etc mean - it's a really nice clean design. Good fun too - I liked the past self mechanic!

Developer

Thank you so much!
I actually thinking mb to add more levels with some new colors. But it will be next time)

Very clever platformer! Well done. 2nd game I saw that used a very cool light mechanic. Damn, wish I would have thought about something like that :D

Developer

Thank you so much!

Oh that was so good... Very clever using past attempts to light your way for future ones! Graphics fit the theme of the game well and the music was bumping! Really enjoyed playing this!

Developer

Thank you! Lovely to hear it

control worked fine for me...  am liking it so far...

don't you think a metal music would be best suited for this game...

The controls were a bit unresponsive at times but as a whole it was an amazing experience.

Developer

Yes, сontrols defenetley need to be improved.
Thank you!

Really fun game. Liked the music, seems very original, really goes far with the theme. It's really satisfying to be interacting with my past version of myself like this. The level design is superb, I really don't have any gripes with this.

Okay actually I have one: The game also has a font as well as the triangle sprite, nd I consider fonts to be sprites. That's not enough to lose the five-star theme adherence though.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Is it me or the controls are not really responding?

Submitted(+1)

I've had that happen a few times.
