That's how to make a funny game
I like the voice over, cutscenes ,animations and the humor in it
nice one
Cheers!! :D
The voice acting and humor was probably the best part of the game for me. The game encouraged you to find different ways to mess up with the semaphore in order to get different endings, and even the "true" ending was really silly and had some fun morbid humor to it. The easy mode was definitely a necessity, as I imagine most people, myself included, don't know how to communicate in semaphore, but once easy mode was available it becomes a lot more easy. Good work!
Thank you Whyms, great to hear the humour landed for you - I certainly didn't know any semaphore beforehand, definitely had to watch a few videos to see how it was done haha! Yes I remember adding the easy mode when I realised that there was absolutely no way to know if you were making any progress without looking up semaphore on the internet!
I waited to play this with my daughter and we had a very good time playing this. 'Odd' was our highlight. A bit of polish would not go a miss and honestly we are looking forward to playing as Mike, having some new letters and saving those Kittens! Excellent work.
Thank you very much! I'm delighted to hear you and your daughter enjoyed it :) I'm enjoying the polishing this week, and that is a great idea - the sequel will naturally involve saving the kitten factory haha :D
Saw your game last night on the livestream and laughed so much lol. very well executed. I had an amazing amount of fun with this.
That's so kind, thank you so much :D
...and after hitting the nunnery, of course it's time for five o'clock, my old chap!
The game is hilarious, but I think with the gameplay (or lack of), it's more of a absurd "experience" rather than a game. Made me laugh a bit though :)
Awesome haha, definitely time to clock off after that xD Yes agreed, I can totally see where you're coming from! Glad to hear it made you laugh too haha :)
Yay voice over! Shout out to getting such high quality VO in such a short period of time, it's a freaking pain.
Yaaay cheers! We were lucky in that two of our team are sound people and had microphones and stuff to hand ;)
The Vo is really really well made! My feedback is that the only thing that made the game less fun was having no idea when I was doing something right or wrong, before the easy mode.
Thank you! That's a really fair point, I think if I came at this kind of puzzle-based game again I'd consider making the mechanics more transparent, and maybe even adding a quick tutorial or tooltips etc.
A very funny game indeed, the VO narrations makes it so much better! The only criticisms I have is maybe change the font and buttons instead of Unity's default font and button XD. Otherwise, otherwise, a very well made game!
P.S. really like the inclusion of the easy mode :P
Great that you found it funny, that's definitely something we were going for haha! Great feedback too thank you :)
Visually it is bad, really bad, but the game is great! Amazing concept and really strong idea :)
Thanks for your feedback :D
The narration is my absolute highlight of the jam and adds so much to the experience. Also, the programming seems to have taken a lot of work, as well as getting everything properly set up. What a creative use of the theme, a job really well done!
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed the narration! I'm happy to hear that about the programming too, that's definitely the area I'm wanting to focus on :) Cheers again!
It says I don't have permission to open the app (Mac). I will try later on windows.
Oh sorry to hear that! I'll have a look at the Mac build during the week and see if I can work something out.
Ahahaha! This made me chuckle. I really enjoyed the voiceover and the narrative of the game. I wasn't sure how I could have worked the puzzle out without easy mode on though?
Hey, I'm glad to hear that haha! Yes I agree, I think the main puzzle is a bit too hard - after we'd finished I had the idea of adding clues based on how many symbols were in the correct position (like the Mastermind board game), but too late of course! Something for next time anyway :)
