I like the idea of having the story become a game but I would have liked more effects or gameplay which matches it, maybe some fire noises and snow hazards.

It's a pretty cool game, and the blending of story into gameplay is a cool concept. It feels like it could use a bit more with setting the atmosphere though. Maybe some quiet sound effects and more ambient noises, and more stuff going on in the main gameplay, maybe words tilting around or something. I do like the idea of the background changing color through the gameplay though.

I think there are definitely ways you can make this more engaging: some kind of animations for the letters, maybe making the character in some way symbolic to the story, maybe add some words in the background, falling down and describing the environment and the man's feelings. I feel you could've simply done more with the idea of words as environment.

It was nice to read the story whilst jumping along. It might have been better if you could fall down but it was still all good and I like EndMarkGames idea of using the letter i in him for an ending idea.

Great entry. I really like your take on the task and approach to telling the story.

That first big leap of faith, when I just had to hope there was something below ... whew! Such a good feeling to land and continue the story. I really liked that and hoped for more sorts of surprises.

The story is great, not sure how much is your take vs the original, but very compelling either way.

I wish you could actually fall into the abyss though, and then maybe just reset to the previous platform. I mistimed a jump and then realized it didn't matter because of the invisible walls. I was a lot less invested in my movement after discovering that.

A small thing, but it would have been great to have a finish line. Like if you had removed the "i" from "him" here so that way I could slot the player character into where he belonged as a piece of the story, that would have felt like a satisfying ending.

Overall, great submission. I enjoyed this one a lot.

I really like it, but I struggle a bit to know how to rate this adaptation of "To Build a Fire" as I'm not sure how much of the qualities is based on the source or your doing.
Cool idea with the platforming, I can imagine this being even more tighly integrated with the content of the story though. For example in the story the character isn't moving alot, but you as the player are, so there is some disonnance there.
Nice submission!
