now I know why batman is overpowered lol, the audio is pretty annoying but the mechanics is cool, would have been cool if the sound bounce instead of going through the objects.

Developer (1 edit)

yeah did not have enough time and also kinda forgot to lock the sound to only play 1 time lol,  but yeah i could have done way better with the sound if i had more time, thanks for playing

Cool mechanic - got a little confused with the environment but I could see where you were going with it :)

Developer(+1)

yeah i wish i could have added a bg and more colors at least, thanks for playing

Hey awesome that you got something submitted! This is an entry that has potential and a cool underlying idea. With some more time and playtesting it could be great! Huge kudos for getting it in, and I hope you'll keep working on it.

Developer

i may take the concept and mechanics to a whole new game but not sure yet maybe a game where you shift from bat to dracula or somthing would be cool, thanks for playing

Was very confused at first, I think the first time I loaded the game I either escaped unwittingly or there were just no barriers or enemies created/loaded? But on a refresh, I did get things to show up. To “echo” what others mentioned, feels a bit work-in-progress as sometimes I would die the moment something showed up, and it didn’t clearly explain the purpose too well. But as a mechanic, there’s definitely something there to work with.

yeah I meant to echolocate  and basically  u just scan your surrounding kill enemy's and avoid wall to get to the end

thanks for playing

I like the concept. I don't have anything to add that wasn't said already.

This game feels just like a prototype rather than a full project. That's not to say there weren't some good ideas. I appreciate the way you use your echolocation and had fun navigating around the tunnels. With a little bit of art or just a color palette change, along with some polish, I think it could be a lot better. The echolocation sound it really annoying though, especially when used repeatedly. I personally think that the simplistic art style would have worked a lot better had you not used the pixel art bat. Overall, it has some good ideas and decent execution, just needed a little bit more time and care. Hope to see you next round!

Developer

Yeah I forgot to lock the sound effects down to only play when no other sounds are playing  and so it is repeated many times when used in rapid succession, and it is a prototype kinda lol if I had more time I would have loved to add a background and even my own art, thank for playing

Developer

I may use the mechanics of this as a base for a different game not sure yet

feel janky this really feels like a prototype created in a day or two, i think if you just continued your round 1 game and make the dancing you dancing to the notes, it would probably be better, BUT i like echolocation

Developer

yeah thats because I could only work on it once or twice each week for a few hours(so like 2-4 times and around 15ish hours I think) and I tried to polish everything with the time I had sorry it felt janky,

ps I thought about that but my round 1 game was not designed around the music and I would have to redo everything from scratch witch would take a lot more time then I had

Thanks for playing

15 HOURS?? man thats pretty impressive good job man imma bump up my ratings for this game by alot!!

Developer

Idk about that lol but thanks

Echolocation is really cool.  I liked your visual representation of the sound, too!  I'd agree with Brainfart that I was a little confused what I was doing, though.

Developer

understandable

thanks for playing

Cool concept.  I considered echolocation, but couldn't actually think of a way to utilize it.  This was a really clever take on it!  I would like to see a little more explanation of what's going on.  Maybe a little more explanation in the game page description?  I'm assuming you need to avoid the walls?  Eat the enemy bat pellet?  Still managed to make it past a level or two, though.  Nice job.

Developer

I agree I would have but a menu if I had time and I totally forgot about the explanation because I was rushing to create a page and upload it lol

ps. I did not add more than 1 level lol sorry for tricking you  but the level just restarts itself

thanks for playing

Developer

yes walls will hurt you

Ah, this makes more sense now that I know this, I was thinking I would just slide and needed to onlya void the enemies

flying is hard and in hindsight  I should  have lessen the slippery Nissan a bit but still wanted some
