Character movement feels stiff, and the level design could use some work (game was lagging at level 3), but the game is solid otherwise.
The sprite work is marvellous.
However, as someone else might have pointed out, the level design need work. I often come across platforms I simply lack the jump height to access. If I can somehow gain more height by using the machanics, then the game need to tutorialize itself better.
The ON/OFF mechanic does has back and forth, but they aren't as involved as I hoped to be
Lumina Shift is an awesome title, and I loved the aesthetic of the game! Really nice take on the "switch platforms on and off" mechanic. Some of the controls could be tightened up, but really nice overall! Hope it does well in the jam!
And if you get a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would love any feedback, thanks!
This game really evoked nostalgic vibes from the old Sonic games. I'm fond of the art style, although the mechanics could use some refinement to ensure smoother gameplay for the player. Additionally, I'm curious to see more utilization of the on-and-off mechanics throughout the game. Overall, you've done a good job!
The most unique aspect of this entry is the movement, there is a sense of momentum reminiscent of Sonic which I found particularly enjoyable. However, the level design felt lackluster in comparison, there were barely any obstacles trying to stop the player and there were almost no room that made use of that feeling of momentum. Still, I found this entry particularly unique and entertaining.
