Awesome game! I really like the main mechanic of the level flipping! The art and music are very nice and having the player ghosts was super cool! I liked watching the ghost to try to figure out the best route through the level. Sometimes the ghosts were too chaotic and I lost track of my character. Maybe a sliding setting for the number of ghosts could help with this? I also couldn't seem to figure out how the ghosts were getting such good times, sometimes it seemed like they were just warping around, but I bet with more practice I could get there. Great work!

That was quite addictive! A simple concept done pretty well, with a cool online competitive element. The graphics are readable and cute, and the music choice was great!
That being said, as much as I like the concept, the actual platforming is somewhat unpleasant. The walls are quite sticky; it's easy to screw up a jump by sliding against one. The player retains a lot of midair momentum despite having almost no ground momentum, meaning the precise bits in level 4 required a lot of "right and then left" movements. There were a couple of times when I landed on the middle of a wall (as in, the character stopped falling and went into the idling animation while adjacent to a wall in midair). Just a lot of little things; it's seems a bit unpredictable for a game built around competitive ghost speedruns.
It was a little tedious waiting for the first eight measures of the song in the first few levels. I understand that it's to wait for the beat to kick in, as well as give the player a little breathing room, but I feel like the movement could've came in after four measures and still have been suitable.
The music is just a little loud compared to the sparse sound effects.
All-in-all, great work!

WOW! I knew to expect something unique and fun from you, but I had no idea GDevelop even had the functionality to do the Mario Kart time trial style ghost thing. Jaw dropped and it really makes you feel so much more motivated to win fast than just trying to beat a number. Of course, the UI was great and the gameplay was clean too. The only thing I thought was that sometimes I felt like I wouldn't get my max height jump off and I wasn't sure what was the determining factor. But otherwise, I was super invested and this was one of the most fun entries because of the ramped up competition against other player! Fantastic!

Its a very interesting concept and you executed it well. My biggest complaint is that I feel like there is too much time at the beginning of each level before the level starts moving.

Oh :3 though this first time gets shorter after every level (following the music speed), but after the jam ill see what i can do :D
Even though it only has 6 levels, it encourages you to get better at them by not only timing you and having a leaderboard for each level, but also by having the ghosts of other players run alongside you (impressive how this is probably one of the only entries this jam that has online functionalities). Got the fastest times for both level 2 and 5 rn! The pixel art is good and love how the music tells you when the level is going to rotate! If you are going to add more levels in the future, maybe you could also add an option to disable the player ghosts for the people who don't want them?
(Also this line on the itch page is annoying me, but besides that it's probably one of the better looking itch game pages this jam)
(Side note: I didn't know you'd join this jam, but coincidentally my game does in fact have a small amount of potatoes in it lol)

It was certainly a bit chaotic trying to find your way amidst everyone's ghost! I wonder how it mus've been before there were any more players. :)
After the jam i will outline the player and maybe reduce the ghosts opacity more, to make the player easier to notice :D

That firebase use was amazing! I´ll definetly try to add this idea to my games. The only downside that I see it´s that the player controls don´t feel very well (and that the graphics are from asset packs, but I understand that you focused much more on implementing the player recording). Overall, very good.

yes i use asset pack, not everyone is good at art :3 i focused more on coding :)
I meant that it feels very slippery having the deceleration and acceleration of the platformer character that low.

Really cool mechanics, fit the theme perfectly and overall a very polished game. Sometimes I got lost in the ghosts crowd but other than that a very fun experience, great work!

One of my favorite games. I guess those afterimages are not real players, but a trick by the designer, but this trick is very beautiful, like the effect of Dark Souls.
I also like the design of the rotating screen, like a game released by a friend on Steam: Lonely Trip. She also used this mechanism to make a great puzzle.

No :o the ghosts (Afterimages) are real players from the leaderboard, not a trick ^^
if u get to the leaderboard on any level, your ghost will also show for everyone playing that level to race against :D
Wow, it's actually a player's record!How did you do it? I really want to learn, and I believe there are many people like me. If the text can't fully express it clearly, can you make a youtube tutorial when you have time?
Basically, I record the player actions → send the data to Firebase → Recall the data and store it in every player ghost object :D
I made a lot of templates on my itch page :3, so I will be making a template soon including this mechanic, so people can learn from it easily :3
the replay ghost and the screen flipping are really cool mechanics
maybe the levels could have been a little bit longer or harder i dont even want to compete on the leaderboard because the levels are so simple that probably everyone already found the almost perfect record.

This was fun. The ghosts of the top 10 players can be a distraction, but they add a lot to the competitive spirit. It was funny when I was competing against myself when I got into the top 10 at the first level. Very addictive High Score chaser.
