Fantastic art work, amazing intro (and extro)! Unfortunately the game itself is simply to dark (i know HDR). Also the gameplay is not bad, but the expectations after that intro were set simply too high to be reached in game made in 9 days i am afraid. But unlike some others I think the game does have some juice!

The art is AMAZING and the plot was really fun, but I don't think this game has juice.

Good work!

Great work with the intro and the graphics! Way too dark for me to feel like a had a chance with this platformer. Some 2d lighting in the right place would improve things.

Developer

It makes a substantial difference if you enable HDR in windows. Apologies, I made the game with HDR enabled and didn't realize it would be so dark for others

It's fun to play, the idea is good, but it's very hard because it's a little to much dark.

Visually pleasing and had good controls. My main note would be to make the ground a bit lighter, as it felt hard to see upcoming jumps at times.

Fun entry!

Really lovely little platformer. As other said, the game is a bit too dark, personally I could not see the holes in the ground at all, which made it basically impossible. Other than that, I loved the intro and outro cutscene, great job on those!

Great video opening, but the gameplay felt bland

So dark, it was very hard to play. I watched the video and it was dark there also. With all that fire, It wouldn't be that dark, even at night.

The AI generated images looks very good, the art in game gives it a feel of horror, and the music add tension to the scene. It is fun to play and I wont like to be that marshmallow 😂

Good job! I feel sorry for this mallow

Did not see that ending coming lol. Super cool art. cute fun game, well done.

Great cohesive art and cool intro, everything is good and fits together, but the gameplay is frustrating. Its just way too dark, almost impossible seeing what is coming ahead (for me atleast) and a bit too punishing.

Developer

The game is very punishing. The other team member requested Dark Souls in a platformer. He will not be working with me on the next jam bahahaha

Awesome concept, great work!

Developer

Thanks!

I quote other comments: the game has awesome graphics, but it's so difficult to see the path and play...

Phenomenal art and style. My only gripe is that it was extremely laggy in browser play and I kept dying with no idea how or why.

Developer

Yeah, I never really intended it to be a browser based game, but I know that not everyone wants to download it so I included the Web GL build so they could at least see it. I uploaded a full HD game trailer for those that were unable to complete the level. Apologies, the downloaded version runs way better.

Opening cutscene was amazing visual work, and a bit of voice acting really brought a special feeling to it. Game itself is good and juicy, I had a bit of a hard time seeing where some of the platforms fall off and as a result died quite a bit until I got a hang of it.

Developer

Yeah, I didn't have a lot of time left to fix some of the color grading so it turned out a little dark. I posted a full gameplay video on the itch page for the people that were unable to complete the level because of the difficulty. Didn't think it was fair to put content behind a difficulty wall.

Thanks for taking the time! I really appreciate it.

Wonderful introduction! The game is cool, difficult with the brightness.

Nice job in any case.

Cool intro and premiss for the game. Maybe the controls could have been tweaked a bit, they felt a bit too sluggish to really be able to play the game (WebGL build).

Developer

Yeah, it runs and looks way better in the download version, but I know not everybody wants to download so I put up the inferior WebGL build alongside. Thanks for taking the time!

Submitted

Now i want to try the downloadable version :) Unfortunately I don't have a Windows computer available :(

Developer

I may just upload a full quality complete gameplay including the cut scenes so that the people that have issues completing the level don't have to miss out on the full story. I know the game is hard, but I also don't think it is fair to restrict content to people behind a wall of difficulty.

Amazing story telling in the intro cutscene! Really loved it! The gameplay is easy and fun when you get how to see the holes! Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Were you able to reach the end? There is another cutscene at the end that really ties the whole story together. Just a little hint, the entire level takes around 1:23 to complete and gets progressively more difficult as you go. There are 3 log sections, once you pass the last one you are nearly there.

Very beautiful intro. Pictures as illustrations for a children's book. I would like to see the whole game in this style :)

Have a nice day )

Developer(+1)

Due to the time constraints of the game jam it wasn't feasible to make everything look as beautiful as the intro. So I settled on keeping the cutscenes beautiful instead. Thanks for playing!
