Didn't get time to play a lot tonight.. I have to leave, but added it to my collection because it was so fun that I really want to play it back until end.
Great job! Graphics are really stunning 😊
Great work! Very good gameplay and awesome graphics. I really enjoy it.
That game is so well polished, it's so impressive. Loved everything in that game, had a lot of fun in the boss battles, the music is really good and the art is so great. Thanks for making this game.
Very authentic and fun game! You botheredto implement the ledge assistance and that makes a whole difference in a platformer. Please keep working on it!
This game could be a full price Gameboy game from back in the 90s, and it would be one of the better ones! There's way too much polish for a week long jam, very impressed!
Incredible entry! Love both the theme and gameplay. Level design is smart and the enemies are super charming, one of the best games submitted imo
This game is perfect! I could totally imagine to run it on a Game Boy. It feels very polished. The graphics are really vivid and the usic fits very well. I love how you imitated the hardware restrictions, the transitions, password feature and so on. It feels very authentic. And the most important part of it, it makes a lot of fun :)
Now that was a really good and fun game!
I love just how complete and polished it is, it's got everything! Multiple stages, each ending with a fairly well-designed boss-fight, it's got an intro and ending cutscenes, passwords, really good, well-drawn and well-animated graphics, really good music and sound effects, and I especially love how you not only stuck to only one BG layer, but you also kept your palette consistent, even when fading the screen in and out, just like a real Game Boy!
The only meaningful complaint I have is the fact that holding the Jump button makes the character jump constantly, like when you land, if the jump button is still held, the character will jump again immediately as soon as he touches the ground, that's rather annoying, but it's fairly minor all things considered...
Thanks for the kind comments! :-)
I was not trying that hard to follow GB restrictions, but I wanted to try my hand at developing some details like the fade-in and out with only changing colors.
And yup, you're not the first one to comment about the jump. You're totally right, I want to change that on a post-jam version I want to make, with some more changes to the game.
I'm really impressed with the amount of polish here ! The spritework is crisp, the controls are tight, and the music is upbeat and fitting. And the passwords are such a cute nod back to the pre-save era. It might be just a simple plaformer but by gosh this is such a great simple platformer.
