I just checked a few frames in photoshop and they're square. It's probably related to that browser bug. Let me know if you have any leads on that, cuz my team can't replicate it. Thank you.

Ah, I was referring to the title screen in particular; that squishing effect looked way too smooth to me.

Oop, you're exactly right. I blew the viewport up x4 for the web build and my pixel snapping isn't working. good catch.

Edit: Added a link to a web build with proper scaling, as per jam rules. Thanks again for catching that.

She did! I tested exclusively in editor, and she tested exclusively on web, so we didn't catch it in time. I feel extra awful about it since it was her first attempt at pixel art and I butchered the delivery.

Cool concept, plays like Crypt of the Necrodancer. Love the artwork, theming and battle mechanic though it took me a moment to figure out how to properly play (probably just me not reading text).

Maybe interesting to have a small tutorial sequence where you show the direction key instead of the music note when unlocking a new character. Then the player knows what the action does and to which it is mapped.

Game is fun. I didn't really have an idea what up and down were doing, but still fun to play through.

Neat game! Choosing the action while keeping up with the rhythm is a very cool concept for gameplay, and the artstyle is quite lovely! But the web version seems to have a weird bug where, after the main menu the screen, the camera is not in the center and the dialogue box gets chopped a bit to the right.  And the songs I think were ok but it didn't give me the vibe of spooky idol group, but it worked to complement the gameplay. Overall this is a very good entry, well done!

That was lovely!!!
I was drawn to this game because the graphics are so pretty but the gameplay turned out to be super fun also and I beat it twice :}  maybe the dialogue could a bit of editing to make the plot more clear, but other than that, it is impressively polished for the short amount of time.  I'd love to see you all continue with these characters and add more songs !
