A bit slow. The base concept was fine but the game being so slow made the engagement a bit hard. I also didn't feel like I was really a thief. I think having a more tile based movement where you're rapidly trying to jump from tile to tile would fit this concept well.

Congratulations on a great job for your first gamejam! At first it was hard to realise that the arrow was pointing to the collectable, but once you did, the game was fun!

Congratulations on your first Jam and so far as I could tell actually completing it.  Had way more of the things they wanted for the jam than mine did.  LOL

Liked the sound and music, graphics and that all fit the GB feel.  Well done.

Gameplay was a bit too slow for me, I wished the player moved a bit quicker.  I might have played longer to see the space filling up part of this.  Or maybe added some sort of difficulty to it beyond the space filling aspect.

But again, great job on your first Jam.  :)

Congrats on your submission and first jam!  I like how you had the arrow pointing to the collectible, it made it so that you had to try to quickly mentally find the best path to get there once you had a lot of crates in the way.  I got 27 and couldn't get the 28th because of the lack of time.  I got stuck a few times.  I think maybe snapping the character to the grid that you were moving on might have made it so that the weird collisions didn't happen.

I might try that, but I don't know if I will be working with full random level generation like this in the future. It felt more finicky then just making levels.

Nice interpretation of the theme, feels like an evolution of Snake. The sound effects and music were really nice, but during the level the audio panning for the music seemed to be way to the right, and then would switch back to the middle on the game over screen? Also, I feel like the gameplay could be improved, maybe with security guards or turrets to avoid to fit the thief theme. Overall, very impressive for a first jam, and I really liked the arrow pointing to the next collectable!

Thanks, I think I missed a check box in Godot for that one and left spacial audio on. Also I might try something like that in a later game/evolution. Thanks!

A pretty creative way of interpreting the theme. Congrats on finishing your first jam!

Its an interesting concept but it might be too barebones as it is, after a while its a bit monotonous, maybe adding boxes with different shapes could solve this issue but its pretty good for a first jam :> keep up the good work and you will get better in no time :>
