While tech overlords want to burn everything to the ground, we understand that our current crisis can only be prevented by working together to build a better, brighter future for us all. And that's exactly what this game jam is for!
Make a game focused on imagining a better future.
In order to build a better future, we have to envision it. Games help us imagine, connect, and share ideas that are hard to communicate in words alone. By making games about a better future, you're helping make that future a reality.
What's accepted:
- Fiction, non-fiction, or educational games & stories
- Games made just for the jam or games previously released sometime in 2025
- Any genre and medium of games (digital or physical)
- Zines and literature, though we want to focus on games. Consider making a Twine game or Ren'Py visual novel!
What's not accepted:
- Entries that promote bigotry, scarcity, doosmday prepping, or other cult-like behavior
- Entries that were released / finished before 2025
- Entries where there is not at least 1 hopeful outcome or ending for what the future holds
- Entries made in whole or part using generative AI or AI art
We encourage people to explore the wide world of games they can make, whether it be a visual novel, sidescroller, point-and-click adventure, and more.
Possible ideas:
- Games about overcoming obstacles to create a better future
- Educational games teaching players how to do something, such as computer literacy, handiwork, cooking, and more
- Games that showcase strategies for working together to rebuild and repair
- Games about fictional characters living happily in the future
