This was a very dense heavy read, but I feel like it was a worthwhile one.

To the ritual analysis, I've often considered RPGs to be a sort of spellwork, aligning elements to 'summon' the experience, and have made it a point to explore that further in Vector! games.

To the RPGS of place and history, I think it is worth everyone's time to read this one. The ways in which a good RPG can help us to understand viewpoints outside our own cultural context and develop empathy for all manner of imaginary peoples says something of the human capacity to find it in the real world as well.z

Highly academic, excellent work.
