Hello!  I went ahead and played it now.  I wasn't sure if the game would finish on its own or not.  I collected 44 of the Triforce looking triangle things and then bumped into things until I got a game over.  I couldn't get one that was beyond my borders.  I would fly up and it would bounce off the walls.   At first I wasn't sure what to do, but I basically used the 2nd dimension that sounded ominous to purify the pups and get health from them.  Then I would go back and collect the triangle things.  I thought adding inertia to the flying, making it hard for the MC to stop was great to add to the difficulty of collecting the triangles, otherwise it would be too easy.  The white obstacles were a bit difficult to see in some cases.

So finally got to play it so I can give you some feedback.  So I like the color choice and the art direction you went with this but I'm going to be honest i'm kinda confuse on a few things and I might be overthinking but I just like to bring it attention.  Is the dog with the tongue evil just the way they look and sound make it seem like they just want to lick you but i see you can attack them. Just mixed message in the way it looks. Second, i'm a little bit confuse by the objective, was i suppose to collect those crystals that were on the right side of the ui or collect the health points.  Also I see that I could go up and there obstacles but there was none in the other dimension so I'm kinda confuse on what to do in the other dimension. Maybe some instruction or info on how the game works or objective more as it kinda hard for me to figure out. Lastly might want to work on the gravity control for the pixel as had trouble getting her to move as in if i try to change direction it was like the gravity was very light for her. Just it was tricky to control her flying to change direction and all.  Other then that, I like the art approach. Just wanted to provide my feedback.

I'm sorry for the confusion. We were hoping to get a lot more completed, but we got sick right after the jam began. I placed a story summary in the game description to help, but I am sure it is easy to miss.

We are going to continue to add to and improve this game. There is no killing in this game. Enemies have been tainted with power stone dust particles. Much like kryptonite has varied effects on people and animals, the dust affects all living things. You have to get all of the scattered pieces of dust from both realms, and to do this you must purify even the flaming pups who lick with lava. The poor things will be sent back to where they came from and leave behind only the dust (and other loot items) when defeated.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you,

LiliumCobra

ouch sorry to hear that.

Ohhh now that makes sense. Yeah that why a description or some indication is needed as couldn't figure out the story nor the objective of the game so that make it much more clear.

When creating a build create a brand new folder. Zip that folder and upload that please

Developer

Thank you for the feed back I have completed that task.

Ok, there should a MonoBleedingEdge folder within there, but its missing. I managed to get the game running by copying the folder from another game (BreadWorld, another game in the jam) so I will leave a ranking, but please try and fix it.

If you're up to it, you could try doing a WebGL build of the game, people seem to prefer that for reviewing, but its not necessary.

Developer

I will try to fix it as soon as I can. Thank you for letting me know. I was working on getting a WebGL build set up but for some reason when it builds it, it breaks the UI completely and makes it unplayable. I appreciate everyone's patience with me on this.

A few things to check:

  • Remember to make sure your canvas is set to resize based on resolution.
  • For the webgl build, there's a section where you set the resolution in the player settings, check that
  • When uploading to itch you have to change the game to html5, then there's again a section to specify the resolution, set it to match what you put in player settings

That's how I got my webgl not to look messed up. There is also a component you can add to your canvas to help, but I can't remember it's name and haven't worked with it, so no clue what to do there.

Best of luck to you

Developer

Thank you so much for the help. I will look into all of this once I get off of work. If I can get everything set up I will upload a WebGL build for everyone to enjoy!
