Cute game. Is the switch time based? Some sound effects are a must. And maybe the cube can also not damage you if you land above it!

Developer

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it changes every 10 seconds, we thought about making it more random but it made the game extremely difficult and unfair.

We didn't had time to add sound because there were bugs to fix and the rock was implemented quickly because we needed more enemies and it isn't very well polished. The idea was that you have to avoid touching it no matter what, one with spikes would have been much better, now I see that it can lead to confusion.

Submitted(+1)

Ok, I get it. I had no time to put enemies at all, lol!

Nice game! I like the idea that you are switched to another dimension automatically after some time, I didn't see this idea in any other game here yet.

Developer

Thank you :) I haven't found any other either (all dimension changes are with buttons either on the keyboard or in-game) and I don't understand it, you can do many more things.

Neat game. Liked the look and music.

I like the idea and you've done well to get the two dimensions to work together, unfortunately it's not always in sync and I found myself being transported into walls sometimes. Still, well done for putting it together.

Getting trapped in walls and dying buried in them was part of the game, the bad thing is that we forgot to put triggers in the thin ones and you don't die as expected there :( I suppose it would be within the rules to fix that.

Nice theme implementation!

The unpredictability of the shift can lead to some frustration, but it's a fun game. Good job.

Submitted(+1)

Such good use of the mechanic. The fact that we cant control when the shift happens adds a new dimension to the difficulty. Loved it. I havent heard any sound on hit and jump. that would make it more immersive but that is just my opinion.

Developer

We left the sounds for the last days and in the end we spent that time fixing bugs, the good thing is that it seems that none have come out yet.

That was tough! The platforming felt pretty good and the dimension concept worked well. There were a couple times where I ended up going way too far and then died when I returned to the regular world. I guess I gotta be more cautious!

Submitted(+1)

Liked the concept, but it could be great if you can make the switch controlled by the player, and not on timing?

Submitted(+2)

I really liked the art and enjoyed the concept, but maybe you could make switching dimensions a button or something?

Developer

That's what everyone else does.

Can we pretend that 'Very Easy' is 'Normal' difficulty and that the real 'Normal' difficulty is, like, 'Nightmare Mode' or something? I'd feel a bit better about my gaming abilities with that switch! :D I tried it on Normal first and wasn't sure what was triggering the jumps between dimensions, then I went to Very Easy and saw that there's a timer for that version.

It still took a lot of tries and the use of the checkpoints to get through Very Easy mode, maybe I'm just bad at games! It wasn't obvious to me where the safe spaces to stand were when a dimension change was about to happen so I'd often warp outside the level or over a pit with spikes in it.

When I did know where to go, I sometimes had to wait around for the timer to count down to get into the proper dimension to proceed, so my personal preference would be to be able to control the jumps or at least be able to trigger them early. I totally understand if you wanted to keep the time constraints in, though, since it adds to the level of difficulty.

Developer(+1)

LMAO At the beginning the difficulty levels were easy, normal and hard, but we wanted people to play the so-called hard one first because that was the original idea of the game and we changed the names.

Submitted

It worked on me! Thank you, I feel better now that I can finish it on easy, at least! :D

Submitted(+3)

first of all, thanks for your feedback :)

Dimensional Instability is quite nice :) .. i liked your menu navigation. had kinda rough times on easy .. the first time, i stopped right where a barrier was before it switched back, then i had some issues, with the platforms and the spikes :D but after finishing it the first time, i did the normal level right away :) .. some jumping sound would have been nice, but who am i, to judge someone about missing sfx when my game has no sound at all :D

good job, liked your game :)

Its good platformer, good job

Submitted(+2)

Good game! It fits the theme perfectly!
I spent some time figuring out how the switches worked, I would have loved a timer somewhere.
Good job anyway!

Developer

Thank you. Lower dificulties have it.

So sorry, I did not realize until you said it!
I think I did not understand what the numbers were for, what is the bottom left one?

Developer

Current FPS xD We did random things to learn and some stayed others went away (like wall jumping). I thought about removing the counter but in the end it stayed xD

Submitted

Alright! Now I got it! XD

Submitted(+2)

Good job . I suggest that if I can switch the dimension by myself it would be better. But Randomness also give me some surprise.

Developer

Thanks. The idea was that you would be trapped with an enemy while waiting for dimension change to escape, in the end we could only put one due to bugs with the AI and the dimension change. And changing dimensions at will would make the game too easy.

Submitted(+2)

A very good idea. I would suggest changing space with preview. To have time to prepare.

Great job.

Developer(+1)

That was the idea, to make it blink before the change. In the end we dismissed it to focus on fixing anoying bugs.

Submitted(+2)

This was cool I liked the characters and how you didnt have to focus on playing 2 games at the same time but still had to use the advantage of switching.

Submitted(+1)

What an engaging game, buddy! I've rated it. Could you kindly play my game and leave a rating?

Submitted(+3)

Very "on-theme".  I played for a bit but never completed, though - a few times, the dimensional switching put me into places where I was stuck and at the mercy of whatever was attacking me, but these kinds of rough edges are to be expected in jams.  Good job with your entry!

Submitted(+2)

The dimension swapping is interesting with the different characters being able to progress where the other character can't! Was a bit punishing sometimes since you can't control when the swapping happens or what might be in store on the other side :P
