Not really. My previous experience making a game made it possible to write the code and draw the images.

Hi! I completed the 21 levels. I don't know why the first time I played I skiped from level 1 to the last level.

I would like the game had a record to beat on each level.

Good job!

I did it! Twenty (plus one?) levels! I'm not sure who would want to live in these neighborhoods with houses packed so closely together.

After picking up the motorcycle the novelty quickly starts to wear off. Because you can't see your previous times once you move onto the next level and you don't get comparisons when replaying a level, there's not much inventive to try and get a new personal best. And since there is no failure state, the only objective is to be as fast as possible, so as the game is now there isn't the replayability factor which would exist with a score display.

Thank you for playing the game and giving such good feedback. I am a speedrunner, so I am aware of replayability. I made the levels so that they would be easy to improve your time on the level, but difficult to get perfect. That way a speedrun of the game would be especially difficult (considering 21 devilishly difficult and fast levels). You're exactly right, a score display would be a valuable addition to the full version of this game.

Pretty impressive given that you used pygames. I've made a few game using pygames and it is much harder. delivered lots of letters!!

Developer

I didn't use pygames. I used Tkinter actually. =)

Why would you do that to yourself!? That sounds even harder!

It was a design choice I made years ago for another game. I wanted the ability to type in a proper text box with copy and paste, undo and so forth. That way I could implement a zork-style text adventure with point and click and graphics.
