Cool idea! I liked the enemy's confused noises when I managed to lose them.

The idea is very good and looks nice but I got stuck on level 2 and trying to see where I should go I got even more stuck :(
Oh no! I think it's inevitable that someone would find a way to glitch out of the levels because of how the game was made, I tried to prevent it but I definitely didn't have time to check every area.
The second half of level 2 has been a difficult spot for many people, so you aren't alone! It's the number one place in my mind to fix up once the jam is over.
Thank you for playing and for your feed back! If you can tell me where you managed to get outside the world that would be super helpful but no pressure if you don't remember! :)
The first time I used your mechanic my jaw dropped because I never thought of that! I like what you have done so far! If you continue on this a little thing I would love to see is that behind cracks where you have to fit through to advance in the level put some light that shine through so its easier to see and you will know instantly that you are not backtracking - also a little more details - maybe color coded so that it is easier to recognise places you have already been
PS the trap right next to you on lvl 4 loading is mean
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you liked the mechanic! I had a similar effect as a result of getting hit by an enemy in last year's jam and that was my favourite part of that game, so I was really happy to be able to design around the concept thanks to this year's theme.
I really need to get a better understanding of how lighting works in Unity, it's possible that I should have used a different type than point lights to try and help guide the player. I definitely agree that helping to guide the player that way would be good design.
Also I'm sorry about that trap! I honestly don't remember putting it there, and it activates right when you load into the scene! I'm just thankful that it doesn't instantly hit the player, but for sure it's badly placed.
Such a original mechanic, I liked the idea a lot, sometimes the actual places where to go where hard to find, but at the same time if they had too much glow/info where they are the game would kind of lost it's meaning. Maybe if you spend enough time in certain area, the lines would start to gradually glow a bit (to help the ones that can't find it).
Fun game and well made mechanics!
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! It's true that if the areas are blatantly marked out then it would remove the exploration aspect, so having a time limit like you mentioned is one good approach. The idea I currently have is an item or an ability which gives hints in general location and then there could be some sort of incentive to only use it if you're really stuck, such as a stat for getting through the level without relying on it. I'm glad you found it fun! :)
This was really well done with great mechanics and puzzles. Something I think would help would be to add a glowing/outline to areas of interest as there were a few times I lost the tiny gap in the wall lol. You did a really good job on this!
I think the level size was quite nice I’m not a fan of small rooms that make you feel claustrophobic in games (or in life) I like the idea of a pickup or even like a particle effect you touch that will fly over to an area of interested, another solution would be putting bright lights in the next room that way the light from the next room shows the gap. I enjoyed it how it was though.
I also don't like claustrophobic conditions in games, despite having made a game all about squeezing through small areas! 😅 I think I erred a bit too much on the scale of the environment compared to the player, but I'd have to look at each section of each level to see where things could be improved.
I did try to put bright lights near to the first unmarked gap in the tutorial level but I couldn't get it to show up clearly and kind of gave up on that approach as a result. If I understood lighting in unity better I think it would have been a great approach.
great puzzle game and chase mechanics. love those sound effect. Also hearts as a secrets was such a nice touch, great reward for exploring. Great job!
I hoped the guardians won't see me if I will become flat 2d on floor
Very cool mechanics and story!
The levels feel a bit empty but of course for a game jam game that is kind of obvious, I would love to play an improved version of this game, loved it! :)
And the decoration of the walls... awesome!!! XD
Really cool idea, I think the life in 2d theme was well done with the princess' abilities. I enjoyed it and I thought the pace was very good, loved the "artwork" on the walls ... fun!
Good Game, cool idea but i sure you need pulish more it, good job
I think it would be the lack of hints, or at least me not getting them, to progress and how often there were interesting things to do. I realise that this was done during a game jam, so i didn't really mark proportional to my reviews, i'm a bit more encouraging with the marks. Also, I jsut realised there's this fun shooter, where you can turn 2D. I can't find it anymore, it's in the asian market.
Cool Idea! could be really good as a full fledged game. Only thing bugging me a little is the camera. Keep up the good work :)
Wow what a cool concept! This could really go a long distance if fully fleshed out!
Great concept of the Life in 2 Dimensions and well done for sticking to the theme!
I enjoyed the stats screen at the end of the levels. Gave me an opportunity to beat my previous times.
I had a couple of times where I got stuck, but I eventually found the holes in the walls ><
Nice submission!
Very cool concept and great adherence to the game jam theme. I got a bit stuck on the first level. It was a bit unclear where to go.
Nice game! Loved the mechanic to become a 2D sheet :D sometimes it's a little hard to understand where to go, but I got it. Nice done! Good game!
