I couldn't help but laugh at the guy's face. The speed of falling and flipping was really slow, and I think tuning these up would help a lot with the fun factor. If the angle at which you hit slopes impacted your speed, that would be nice as well
You said in your text that you wanted really to be good in gamedev.
So take the gamejam to your heart and try something for yourself... It doesn't help you if you just upload a course-project from the 2D-course. Just to get a free course...
Try something out, even if it is buggy or broken, ugly or just almost unplayable. But try something! Or just change the sprites.
I believe you can do that! :D
It's nice
Nice game but why does it look so similar like in a course but anyway it's a cool game that you have made in 10 days I recomend for you to watch Brackeys
https://www.youtube.com/c/Brackeys/videos?view=0&sort=p&flow=grid
Brackeys made a lot of good videos about game dev and they 100% will help you on your journey.
Good Luck!
Played and rated. Fun little project.
I had fun rolling and sprinting around! What I would find more enjoyable is having more speed while rolling in the air, right know it feels punishing to flip.
Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well: https://hadilepanda.itch.io/rise-of-necromancy
rated, really good game.
i mean it is kinda nice?
i mean kinda yea
...im confused.
i legit did nothing, and it just played itself. Was i meant to do smth.....me not understand
It didnt seem like anything i did had any effect on the game. Is it an auto?
try improving the controls and physics.
consider adding good music and more fine-tune controls.
I had no idea what I was supposed to do, but the goofy look on the guy's face as well as the way he completely defies physics made me laugh.
Keep up the good work
Congrats on completing the jam! Adding a small description to your game's itch.io page with controls would be a great idea.
I liked the aesthetics, but you might consider adding the controls wether ingame or in the game page, I didn't know at first how to play, also maybe making the character go a little faster would make it more fun :) Good job either way!
I like the physics and the aesthetics. The snow particles are fun :)
You might think about writing down the instructions and controls on the game's page somewhere. I had a hard time figuring out if I was progressing or not.
Good entry though, thanks for posting!
As per your request I'll point out the most obvious points to improve this game. First of all, tell people how to control the game. I didn't figured out until the game finished without me doing anything because the angle tolerance is pretty high so it won't fail even if I left it run there endlessly. Secondly the pace of this game is just too slow for snowboarding, I played games that doing similar stuffs on mobile back in 2007 which is before iPhone era and it's much more fun than this because the speed is keep increasing as you go and the more extreme moves you make during your jump the more score you got. Well obviously part of the fun is to see how much you can score compared to your friends, which is what is lacking in this game right now. At first I even thought that I'm still in some kind of cutscene because the game just started without any warning and I didn't know about the buttons, so it would also be nice to have some kind of on screen button to press when you want to start the game.
