Great game, from random at the beginning to gradually becoming strategic and subtly playing experience, I like this game!
Thank you very much. I'll be sure to improve the game in the future.
Nice game! good gameplay, simple idea yet creative. I don't think I have more useful feedback than anyone else here. So good job, nice touch on the historical backgrounds.
Thank you so much, Ebben.
Nice little game. I miss having some more dynamic components to the gameplay, though.
Thank you, Dario. The game is in unfinished state, I will make sure to improve the game and add tutorial in later update.
Good game. It would be great if the RPS icons can also be used aside from keyboard control. An ability to change decisions would also be nice. The last one is already changeable though.
Thank you very much. In case of changing decisions, there is a reset (space key) to reset but for all 5 RPS icons into default (? = random).
Tried the game! I liked the graphics, really Flash-like! The only thing I would improve is the gameplay, like a bit more hints about what signs use so it’s not totally random and make fights shorter. You did a good entry and a good job!
Thank you, Michael. Can I get clarification on this "a bit more hints about what signs use so it’s not totally random"? Do you mean from your side (left) or the opponent?
I've read similar critic, and it seems the inputs doesn't change your 5 RPS icons. If that's the case, then it's a bug I need to find out.
I like the idea of taking a look at rock, paper, scissors and giving it extra mechanics. I think some polish would really have helped, I couldnt understand the game at first, but then I read your page and tried again, it was better. More damage would also be nice, it took a lot of time. Great entry none the less, be proud my friend!
Yes, thank you very much. I will continue to improve the game as I like it too and it's unfinished.
Nice game, although it has a lot of interesting mechanics that I'm not sure I understand. Might be worth adding a tutorial?
Thank you. Yes, this needs tutorial. Unfortunately ran out of time. I will add it when I finalize the game design.
Fun game, but when my character dies it seems to just stuck there - no game over, no restart. The game could definitely use some sound effect/music, but I totally get your comment on the game page :)
Thank you, ovk. The game is unfinished due to time constraint. But thankfully still managed to make it playable and introduce the concept.
Cool concept. But at first it's a little confusing.I think maybe you should place some hint near the Rock paper scissor icon or just allow player to click to decide their choice.
Thank you for playing and thanks for suggestions, I will take note of these to plan the next update.
I liked the concept. Interesting gameplay. Good work
Thank you so much.
I like that mechanic. but you not set replay ya restart system in this game.
Yes. I ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback and thank you for giving it a try.
I like that mechanic.
GG
Thank you, Sesso.
Simple but fun, it sould be cool if the rock paper and scissors icons had the key you should push, in game instructions would give a plus, there are so much elements on the UI that could have sense with a tutorial.
Also, it needs music on the background and they could be one for each epoch.
Like the aesthetics, overall design and idea.
Keep on the good work.
Yes, thank you very much for playing and helpful feedback. With time constraint I did not have time to add title screen, and sounds. But I'll make sure to update the game and avoid my past mistake which is abandoning the game after game jam ends. The suggestions are noted.
Almost everyone has been done that. Abandon potential great games after the jam is finished. Just select which one will be the one you will keep working on it. Good luck and keep on the good work!
Good game, for the sake of simplicity I will put what I liked and what I think is still missing.
The good parts:
1. The game looks good
2. The game works well
3. Existence of an audio feedback (the sound of the timer when the round is over).
The bad parts about it:
1.Lack of background music (makes the game quite boring).
2. The icons for which options you have chosen are not displayed (that is, you press the keys which options you have chosen but it does not tell you what they are).
3. Maybe a main menu would be good, maybe because you can add a short tutorial there and you can display more things from there. (the part with the tutorial is optional considering that a tutorial is already in the game description).
Thank you so much for the in-depth feedback. Can you explain more about number 2?
"2. The icons for which options you have chosen are not displayed (that is, you press the keys which options you have chosen but it does not tell you what they are)."
Does this mean the rock, paper, scissor icons does not show when you press Q, W, E? Because the icons should change from first right icon to last left icon whenever you input Q/W/E. The key R will give "?" which is random. Otherwise, it might be a bug I need to investigate.
Also the AI (blue player) will always show 5 "?" as it will only random pick a symbol.
I mean I was referring to those squares with question marks, they always stay like that and do not change with the options you chose (as they are shown during the battle). Maybe it is an problem from me because I had an slow internet when I played the game.
Good game anyway. :)
GREAT Rock,paper sicsorrs game
Thank you very much.
Great audio! The game is super fun, reinventing the ol' rock-paper-scissors game!
Ah, yes... the sound of silence. XD Thanks, pigeon. Good pigeon.
Hi fellow Phaser dev! I like what you have done and I hope you will polish it more.
Yes, definitely. I always wanted to make an RPS fighting game ever since I watched an old YouTube video of flash game: Battle Masters. And this jam is my chance to make it. Thank you for playing.
I really enjoyed this! It reminds me a lot of the old battle-style flash games
Thank you, Kotzwinkle. Glad you enjoyed even the game has no sound feedbacks.
It took me a turn or two to get it, but then I had fun.
After a while I just started spamming Rock every time. I almost won. I wish I knew why the background changed and what the icons along the bottom mean. The life is too high or the hits don't do enough damage or something. It took too much time to win/lose.
Thanks, ripter. My goal for game session duration is 10~15 mins similar to the flash game Battle Masters. Unfortunately with limited time, I haven't tested the game well to balance things out, but I had the thought of adding more health or reducing the Ages (or time period) in clock cycle in order to reach the full cycle.
The icons below is what I want to call a "Tug Of War" for an artifact, obtainable from current Age. The meters below indicates the "Reach Meter" and can be increased by winning the hand symbol the artifact represents. The first player to get the meter full gets the artifact and can be used in battle.
The background changes whenever the clock at the top moves to another time period or Age. There are 5 Ages: Ancient Egyptian Age, Medieval Age, Roman Empire Age, Steampunk Age, Cyberpunk Age. Each lasts for 5 turns.
I think I need to update my game page description now. Sorry for the long reply. Hahaha!
