Wow, very cool idea. I like card games and the timing mechanic adds a new twist to this genre! The main thing I missed in the game, is a short description of what every card does. It was a bit try & error and finding combos is a bit luck. I know it is only a prototype yet, but has already a lot of cool elements in it! Congratulations!

的Very interesting game, hope you can continue to develop

This is so cool! I won. I'm about to lose in the last turn but got lucky to combine Fire and Poison, then it combined to deal higher damage enough to kill the cyclops. What an epic comeback. HAHA1 Also nice music.

I see a fellow developer making a card game too! I liked it, even if the fights can be long at first when you don’t know what to do, so I would make battles more shorter and I would like to experiment more with the skills in the future. Congratulations!

Great game.
It’s really nice that you added tutorials.
I like the music

As someone who loves deck builders, I would love a rogue-like rpg with this system. One of the best concepts I've played in this jam (to be fair, I think I'm only 1/4 done rating them all).

looooove this idea but struggled to produce any combinations aside freezing the enemy (water+wind). As others suggested, a cookbook OR visual indication that things will be interesting when combined would go a long way. The biggest feature missing from this prototype was to drag-n-drop placed abilities instead of having to reset them all. I assume that was left out due to time constraints :p

While playing I had some other mechanics ideas I thought would be nice:

  • Each wizard has a specialization, so using them with certain card types could grant casting bonuses.
  • Each wizard's timeline could have certain "shapes" instead of "can always cast".
  • Each wizard's timeline should have "obstacles" or "events" within each tick per round. For example, I could cast fire when the "double damage" event lives in the timeline BUT it comes at the cost of not getting something else (since I had to place the cast at a certain time).
  • Make the ability "shapes" more interesting could be fun (imagine tetris through time instead of space). The shape of all abilities so far was CCAEE (charge, ability, effect). If there were abilities in the form CC___AE, you could start to case other abilities in between :O

Lots of potential here, great game idea!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and I really like all the suggestions you put forward here, esp. the one about obstacles and events! Will definitely try and incorporate these in a future version of the game.

The cover art really attracted me. I like how the wizard hold the cards.

Having an option to speed up the flow would be great.

Future addition could include deck-building.

The tune is a bit repetitive to me but that is pretty great tutorial music.

A cookbook on how to combine the status effect would be nice.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think deck building is definitely the direction I wanted to take this in the future! And yeah cookbook + speed ups would be nice quality of life features as well.

I really like this concept, and also I really like the cover art.

Cool idea! Really liked the tutorial. Would like to see this expanded.

I like this idea, I would love to see it more fleshed out. The Combat system was interesting but I wished there were more combos and that I had more cards to choice from.
