1 week to make a game! The first official Game Jam of the Game Dev Ghana Group is finally here!

Team up with other devs, or fly solo as you tackle the challenge ahead. 
The game your make must be based on the theme for the jam which is announced when the jam starts. After the jam is over your game will get rated on by other participants and you will get to vote on other games!

First time you've heard about  a jam?

Go ahead and give it go! It's a satisfying activity which has been the birth place for many popular hit indie games. Celeste, Hollow Knight and so many others. 
Who knows? Your next big game idea could come from here.

The theme is...



The jam is live. You're highly recommended to make a game based on the jam's theme. Highly recommended, but submissions would still be rated even if they don't abide by the theme.


Rules

- Be friendly and respectful of others.
- Teaming up is allowed.
- Use any engine or framework of your choice. You can also use assets not made by you, but make sure you have the proper license to use them and crediting is highly encouraged.
- Your game must be mostly original. Making everything from scratch is not mandatory. but if you do you get to be extra proud of yourself at the end!

Submission

Leave ample time to submit your game! Last minutes are dangerous!
It is recommended to create the itch page and upload your game at least a couple of hours in advance as these things take time to be sure to plan for it.

Prize Pool: ₵1000 

1st Place: ₵500 

2nd Place: ₵300 

3rd Place: ₵200 

4th & 5th Place: The friends we made along the way

Don't be worried if you can't get all aspects perfectly. Just go crazy with your creativity!!

Legal

The Game Dev Association claims no rights or ownership of your game. It's your property.

We reserve the right to disqualify or remove any submission from the competition. Any submission may show up in a GGN Youtube video or news article without your express permission.
