Very big fan of the style, atmosphere and voice acting of the game. I was a little confused at the start but after a few plays I got it. Good job!
Very unique and interesting deck builder! Took a bit to figure out the strategy involved and still not 100% certain on some on the mechanics. But overall, very cohesive on the design and aesthetic. Definitely an entry that made me want to beat it!
I believe there was a bug though in one run where my hope reset to 0 at the start of every turn.
Really cool atmosphere. I do think the game could've greatly benefited from a tutorial; it took me several runs to truly figure out what was going on. Reading the cards was a pain too, but I understand the aesthetic reasoning behind only showing the text on mouse hover. Very unique entry.
One of my favorite games of the Jam! I gave it about 4 plays until I beat it, and had a great time. I think my only complaint is that some of the choices you are offered don't seem to completely make sense to me. For example, there is a section where you can buy cursed cards, and they never really seem worth it to buy. Although, maybe I'm missing a super cool strategy where you would want to buy them?
Either way, great game!
I am a really big fan of card game, especially strategic card game. This game have very sophisticated card and mechanic design. I have lots of fun during the play. By the way, the audio and background is awesome too. Really Good Game!
I will vote high rate!
Insanely creative, super fun, extremely difficulty while never feeling unfair the best game I've played yet! great job!
I really enjoyed playing the game! I loved minimalistic design and I think the card game mechanics are very creative and work well with both the nightmare theme and 'scale' theme.
At the same time, I found some mechanics difficult to understand (for example, spending hope to tip the scales, judgement rounds, game over conditions). With a horror theme, it's difficult to tell if the game's rules are cryptic on purpose or not.
Great job! Good luck with your future projects!
This was cool, very atmospheric. Audio design was excellent. Having voice acting at all is a huge standout amongst jam entries, and the VA here is quite good.
I loved the visuals, especially the card representations and the blood spatters.
The game was difficult to learn, to be honest I’m not sure I totally understood the mechanics. Blood tiles especially were unclear to me, as was the relevance of card placement location. Despite my confusion, it didn’t seem all that difficult to play. I didn’t feel like synergies were really necessary to progress, or that I had many options to create them. Most rounds I simply played everything I had in whatever order and had plenty of hope.
I also didn’t finish the game, so perhaps I didn’t see everything it had to offer.
I love the concept and the presentation on display here, I really think this could be a very cool game with better teaching of the mechanics/mechanic improvements.
I'm gonna give 10/10 to audio for voice over and atmosphere. This game was very well polished and gory just enough :) I could use some explanation at the beginning, but overall good job!
A very unique feeling card game that sure has potential but is severly lacking in explanation.
I understand that hope is good and nightmare is bad, but what are blood tiles for? Why are spots sometimes available for card placement and sometimes not ? Figuring out where to place cards was a first big hurdle too.
If those things would be cleaned up I think this could be a real good game.
Having voice acting in your jam game is rarely done, so much points for that ;D
Great job !
Art, soundtrack and sfx greatly support the experience and make it feel like real horror)
The only slightly confusing thing was an absence of tile's placeholders on board and it took some time to figure out how to place cards.
Great game!
I can tell this game has great potential. The gameplay is complete, and the story and art go well together. I think it just need a little bit more introduction. So that the player wouldn't be confused in the beginning (At least I was).
