Five stars bro! you rock it!! Finally, the bedroom scene at the end is very nice! Enemies are varied, and enemies' speed is different and interesting. characters have lots of attack and defense poses, the switching between BGM and battle BGM is good, very smooth experience!
I like the style and battle approach you all took with this. I had a bit of a hard time finding the intended goal of the game, and the enemies being notably faster than me led to difficulty exploring by being constantly attacked by enemies that I couldn't outrun, but the core mechanics were interesting and the artstyle very lovable
This is hilarious, I killed a mushroom using an emotional attack :D Really funny!
I love the ending scene. It was just cozy. Music was very well chosen.
The main mechanic of battles were interesting but it quickly turned out mundane really fast and on top of that I never used defense and was doing fine. Maybe let player choose both defense and attack on 1 turn and same for the enemy and give results? It would be much more interesting and if some enemies use 1 type of damage or defense more, the game play would also improve and make player give attention. Maybe even add 1 more type "like spiritual/magical damage" and with a meaningful way to guess what will enemy do game play is now also challenging.
I did not understand what was going on the left side of the screen and page does not explain it.
Procedurally generated levels did not add much to the game but if you made them to learn about it that is what jams are for so it did its job for you.
My favorite in this one is defeating enemies by using emotional attack. XD Loved it! Congrats on your game, the graphics are really nice as well. Would appreciate some more hints like when to use which attack, against which enemies and so on.
Web build does not work on my computer. Tried 3 browsers. Reply me if it is fixed so I play and rate.
Sorry for the late reply, couldn't work on this over the week. Could you give me some more information about the problem. How far do you get into the game, can you hit play on itch, does the unity splash screen show up, do you get any audio?
Could you also give me some information on your system, are you on a Mac? I know its web based, but Mac runs all browsers through safari under the hood.
If there is anything else you've noticed that might help me to replicate this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
I think it was a loading problem but it works now. Prob on my end or some itch.io problem.
I liked the general art but the combat felt a little cumbersome which may not have been a bad thing but I had lines of enemies running me down so got a bit much. It would have maybe helped to scale down the combat and add another job for the player puzzles or pickups etc.
Great job on the game, the storyline reminds me a bit of Yumme Nikki, while the combat gives off Undertale vibes with the ability to talk to the enemy instead of just punching them. I think it would have been cool if the emotional attacks spared the enemy, possibly making them too sad to continue fighting, but the combat was fun nonetheless. I loved the art, the enemies were cute and creative, I also really liked how the relaxed overworld theme switches to the more intense battle music. The enemies are really fast and leave little time to react, but it is still possible to outrun them so it's no big deal. GG!
Nice work! I liked the game, mainly the idea of having a physical and emotional attack, but I had difficulty understanding the difference between them.
Glad to hear you liked it!
They are two separate damage types. Meaning everything has physical attack and physical armour (blocks physical attack) and then a separate amount of emotional attack and armour. The game would definitely benefit from making this more clear, maybe with some UI that shows the stats or some more descriptions in the buff/debuff.
On either case, thank you very much for playing it :)
Super fun! i love the art and music and gameplay! I would love to see this expanded upon! Great job to you and the team.!
Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed it! There is a tun of stuff we wanted to add and a couple of bugs I wanted to fix, but not got around to, so we might expand it still.
Nice game, I liked the Pokémon style battle mechanics and the background music. Making everything from scratch is great.
Thank you so much, we all just wanted to play around with different things and we really enjoying making it :)
