Great feedbacks while mining! Would be better if there is a timer or other limits for each level.

Fun entry. Loved the visuals and sound atmosphere.

Cool game! It was surprisingly enjoyable to mine the scales! Nice art too :)

Nice idle clicker. I played till level 10. Game did not let me buy same upgrades again don't know if it is a bug or I did not understand something. I wish progress was a little faster.

Developer

You probably just didn't have the 2nd resource required which seems to have a sprite that is too similar to the first, a few people have made this mistake something we will probably look at changing in the future.

Great take on the theme! Also, very smooth gameplay and overall feel of the game! You really did an amazing job!

I love the name of your game, and it’s a fun clicker game! Could totally see this adapted into a mobile game if that’s not already something you’ve done here. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The name was something that I came up with pretty much a day before we finished the game! we were struggling to come up  with something we liked, but we thought the play on words was a good fit for the theme

The game worked fine until I pressed the full screen button. This could be only a Firefox or Mac issue.

Very cool and relaxing game :) Nice Job!
Just out of curiosity: did you have to cut some features due to time or other constraints? I've opened a topic on Community section about that: it's called "The Features Cemetery ☠️". I would love to have you contribuite there!

Very cool game, I love clickers game and I love clicking everywhere :D the graphic style is very pretty and you've almost got me hooked but I still didn't get to the end because I wanted to try out other jam games! ^^

But great game, well done ;)

nice timer killer

Very fun game, good music and sfx. The only problem I had was that I could mine the scales through the upgrade menu

Submitted(+2)

Interesting concept and great presentation! I would have liked to click and drag my cursor across scales for quicker mining but I understand that would interfere with the fact that some scales need more hits than others, so there would have to be more thought put into it. The music was good, the SFX got a little repetitive, but overall it was fun. Nice job.

Developer

thanks for playing! a few people have brought up the idea of click and hold to mine, Maybe a "auto swing" or drill upgrade to the pick would be a cool add in the future :)

This was great! Lovely clicker game. Only suggestion is to speed up availability of upgrades. I made it to the air dragon then got tired of clicking because the scaling up of production/bots/upgrades was a little slow. But overall, great job! Love the art, nice SFX, cool concept.

cool idea, nice idle game :) For me everything got locked in the shop after the first purchase. Like even if I had the resources it didn't let me buy it. I'm not sure if it is just me, but other than that I really enjoyed playing but I checked out at the 3 dragon because it got pretty slow without more upgrades. Good and polished game, very impressive!

Developer

the shop *should* be work fine to progress through upgrades, Seems like you ran into the same problem a few people have been having where the water and air shards are a little too similar looking when they are shrunk down to the icon size so you think you have the right resources for an upgrade but you do not. Possibly will have to do some re spriting in the future or swap the order of the dragons to put some separations between water and air to make the differences in the sprites more clear. thanks for playing :)

This could be made into a very addicting game. The combo and the mining mechanic combined made it very fun to optimize how to mine blocks. This reminded when I played minesweeper, the feeling of recognizing patterns of mines (best combo routes in your case) and try my best to clear them as fast as I could. I thought it was a bug that I cannot upgrade my pickaxe, but turns out i recognized the wrong material, maybe different materials should use different colors for better distingtion? It was fun when I can one hit kill normal blocks. Overall the gameplay is solid and quite a unique twist on this genre. Good job!

Is it a bug or what because I can't buy upgrades except for the first time. I saw many people said your game was fun so maybe it was my problem?

Developer

It's most likely that you didn't have the required resources. The first two special scales that drop (from the water and air dragon) look very similar. We planned to re-arrange the order of the dragons, because we kept getting confused too, but ran out of time.

But if you think you found a different issue, let me know and I will see if I can figure out what's going on!

Wow! Probably the first jam game I've spent 20+ minutes in. I've really liked it, best clicker game I've played in a while. Also while playing I've collected some nitpicks/suggestions I would like to list:

1) Bomb bots stack up a lot of sounds in late game, which is very loud and annoying. Offsetting the sound pitch of a mined scale by a small random amount would probably fix that and make sounds more interesting

2) Drill bots feel underwhelming in comparassion to boom bots. Making them prioritize gem scales would make them more unique and not feel like they are a worse version of boom bots.

3) Making scale mining progress more visually obvious at first levels would make introduction more smooth

4) Same thing with the combo mechanic, since it doesn't have an audio-visual response it takes some time to realize it exists and even then the game doesn't really encourage you with anything besides a small text in the corner

5) Hold to dig upgrade or something like that would be extremely nice to conserve the fingers' health:)

6) It isn't always obvious where the cursor is pointing, which in conjutcion with small upgrade buttons make it hard to press them at first

Aside from that everything is 10/10 in my book, great progression, audio, visual and theming. Great job!

Thanks for playing and providing such actionable feedback! You gave lots of great ideas that I'd love to get implemented once the voting period is over.

We did actually have sound effects for the combo system, where a minor scale (A minor, piano) was played based on the player's current combo. We were really excited because it supported the play on words in the name of the game AND added another layer to the theme, but it ended up being so annoying that we decided to remove it last minute. We're hoping to find a better way to add polish in the future.

Thanks again for the feedback. Really appreciate it (and sorry for your fingers) :)

EDIT: he beat me to the comment haha

Thanks for playing! appreciate the detailed feedback!

My partner did implement a randomized pitch for the digging sound but it did seem to be pretty hard to tell the change with the sound effect itself, we could probably increase the pitch change to try and make it easier to hear.

we had also implemented a sound effect with the combo it would go through the A minor musical scale which is where the play on words for the name came from. We ended up taking it out as it also seemed pretty annoying with the music and other sounds and long combos, but something we would like to re work in the future! we have the visual counter in the bottom corner for combo but I think it would be nice to maybe have an X combo indicator tied to the cursor to make it easier to see.

and bigger upgrade buttons hopefully soon to come! I too had the same problem with trying to click it sometimes while doing some play testing, but I didn't get it changed due to time constraints

I like the theme interpretation. It seems like a really nice casual game. I can't seem to confirm an upgrade selection though.

Very nice! I found myself watching the bots mining the dragon for minutes while thinking about my own things.  😁

Great job! I think the game scales nicely and allows the player to automate mining right then their hand gets sore from all the clicking.

Very cool idea . Simple, yet captivating. I could see myself playing this on my phone for hours. chill but focus pulling
