I really like the idea but it turns out kind of difficult, even with two people. The graphics and music were quite nice as well.
Very difficult but the idea here is really good. I would have liked to be able to use space to jump just because W was hard for my brain to get used to. Perhaps something like letting the snake hit the wall once before losing would help to offset having to balance both controls simultaneously. Also it was a bit frustrating that the snake would eat the player if they touched the snake's head at all. I had it across the gap facing right and then set it to go down from there but I moved too fast and got eaten even though I was on top of the snake's head and not near it's mouth. So that was a bit frustrating but more on me for not having patience I suppose. Otherwise, really cool concept and with just a little more polish I think it could be an amazing game.
Space originally did make the snakecharmer jump, but since that also sent you from the win screen to the start screen some playtesters accidentally skipped it. In the end I removed the keybind for that reason.
I recommend playing all 10 levels as there are more mechanics introduced later on. Thanks for rating and leaving a comment!
Cool game! Difficult! It was pretty tough controlling both characters, but it got easier over time. I liked the simple art style and retro feel. The music fits the retro aesthetic, but it gets a little bit repetitive after a couple of levels. I liked the mechanics used in the later levels, specifically the fruit and the switches. It adds a lot to the game! Enjoyed it. Nice work!
It reminds me of a game that Mark (we all know mark right? The GMTK guy!) was talking about a while ago. And that's a compliment because he was praising it! Nice work! Also love the music!
This is very addictive! I found it very challenging to think about poor Guido and my snake at the same time but I did improve with practice (it's addictive enough to want to keep trying :). I thought the music and sound effects were well matched to the game. I like that you could lose in different ways - makes it suitably challenging (eg get eaten, hit a wall etc). I would suggest making it slightly easier to start with. I will try to find a second player and come back to it! Nice work!
I liked the idea, but it was a little frustrating to me because when I step on the snake's side head, I lose, and it took me many tries to know why I was losing until I noticed it.
I played it alone by the way, at first, it was hard to synchronize the snake's movement with Guido's movement, but I think that's the point. I'll give it a try with a friend.
P.S. This is me playing the game, one eye looking to Guido and the other looking to the snake. XD

The good stuff:
- Cool game idea
- Artstyle is consistent
- Python python
The stuff to improve:
- Music. There are a bunch of composers that would love to join teams, just ask one for help if you can't make good music. (or alternatively just practice and get better at it)
- Snake's kill hitbox is really unforgiving, should just be at the mouth only, not on the sides as well. It makes the game more frustrating for no reason.
Can't say a lot more, it's a very simple game.
I have studied composition, in case you wanted to know. I agree the soundtrack’s a bit simple though, and I will add some more instruments to back up the main theme.
I added the eat mechanic so you can’t make the snake lift you straight up. I’ll consider making it smaller if I make a post-jam version.
Hope you had fun playing all 10 levels and thanks for the feedback.
I love the concept here - very creative, and a cool blend of 2 classic game types. It was too tough for my tastes, though - the main thing is that the snake's hitbox for eating Guido is huge. I like that it's something to watch out for, but I'd prefer if the danger zone was just his mouth area. I kept dying when I thought I should be fine as I jumped over his head or onto his back. Change that, and I'm into it. Nonetheless, very cool game and nice job!
Nice work!! I like the use of the theme here. Congrats!
It's a good exercise for your brain! :D
Very challenging but nice! Good job!
I found it very hard to control both of them and on top of that snake could eat you even if you were on top of it.
Number one thing I would change is make a mechanic that makes snake stay in place.
I think it's a very original idea and the game runs well. But for some reason it feels painful to play it. 😅 It's quite difficult to control 2 characters at the same time and I found myself failing the most basic tasks...
Still, it's a very solid game. I'm sure there are people who will enjoy it.
If the game is too hard, you can play with a friend and control one character each ;)
Great idea! I'll probably give it another try with a friend during the holidays.
I like the style. very good game
This is a really good game and good concept, I feel like it has potential to be released as a paid game with more polish and development! It's so much harder than it feels like it should be, but it a way that feels like a real challenge and not just like, just frustrating. Awesome job!
Pretty fun and challenging if you play solo!
Coming back to play it again with a friend, this has potential to be a great 2 player game
Great job!
Very great game! Good job!
Man, this is a great brain exercise! Definitely cool use of divided attention with right & left hands, and also thinking quickly on your feet, so to speak. Very cool!
