Excellent use of grappling hook! I loved all the cliches, like a mute protagonist, princess, grappling hook. Animations were great too! This is a nice entry for the game jam. Great job!

Improvements to the game as a whole could be made. For example, way too often the princess gets stuck in a branch and rotates around likes crazy and then at some random moment just decides to slowly fall down on the rope until the rope catches a different branch, and then the princess will stick to that new branch. The controls could be tweaked as well, and also maybe the map or the princess size, because there are some places that require a lot of precision to jump to due to them being almost exactly the height of the princess. Other than that, great game, liked the graphics (Especially the animations for the princess), and the idea is pretty neat.
Hallo,
Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;
1. verified: GAME due to observed to noticeably appear when viewing the SUBMISSIONS LIST; adds: noticeable drawing technique via title image
2. remembered: Batman Returns (Super NES) via keyphrase: grappling hook
3. observed: self to appeared to have reached nearly the EXIT after receiving the upgraded grappling hook; adds: tree branch did NOT appear to exist @the location; OUTPUT: DIED state
4. prefers: to have COMMAND to go down from branch, instead of only JUMPING from branch;
5. notes: text dialogue to exist
6. observed: no ATTACK ACTION against the enemy birds; keyphrase: EVADE
Thank you. Health!
I like the overall concept and control scheme. Like others said, some fine-tuning could help this play more smoothly. Personally I think if that grapple came out faster it would improve a lot. Character art looks great. I especially like that scruffy bird guy.
Good job on this! Really liked the graple mechanic, it's so fun. As others have pointed out maybe some change to the physics like the graple speed, gravity, etc. and small tweaks with the difficulty would help the game to feel more snappier and satisfying. The art is very cute as well :)
Hey!
Nice game overall, a bit on the hard side of things. I loved the princess artwork and the style in general. Controls were a bit clunky at times. I generally like these types of games and i make platformers myself so i might be a harsh judge on that :)
It is a nice effort overall and had me playing for quite some time! Keep it up!
The art on the Death screen is INSANE! Unfortunately, the rest is not as good, but still great! :)
At first, I didn't know what to do because I accidentally skipped the first guy and didn't get the hook.
And you probably should have put more time in the core mechanic of the game (The hook) because it doesn't really felt satisfying enough. I couldn't save myself from fall damage mid jumped and so on.
But overall, still a great game! Just wanted to put out a few points, I noticed while playing. And I hope you'll appreciate the feedback, :) There is always space to improve.
Yay, I was able to beat the game! Some recommendations: Movement and grappling could use a bit of tweaking. It was a bit difficult to get around the world. I also wish that colliding with the birds (and fall damage!) was more forgiving, as it's quite easy for your entire health to instantly deplete from one bad move.
I really liked the hand-drawn style, and the environment was colorful and vibrant! At first the game was very difficult for me, so I decided to skip the coins. Oops! Turns out I needed them. But after getting to the bottom, I was more familiar with the controls and movement so it became this game about patience and tricky maneuvers. Great work!
Fun game!!
I think the graphics are great.
The princess is very pretty.
The game is nice, I like the mechanic! The character's art is well done but the trees felt like they didn't go well along with the rest of the graphics. I liked the bird guy, he's fun and at the end he made me laughed a lot for the coins
As said by another comment it would have been nice to be able to de-attach the hook instead of jumping.
The game is hard but still enjoyable.
Nice game!
The art and the concept are great. I would've liked to play far more, but the princess' movement felt too uneasy. Having to hear the conversation again every time you fail in the early stages also created a bit of friction. Nice entry anyway
The game was a bit tough for me! the fall damage is very unforgiving!
"You know what, keep them" more or less sent me crying. I tried so many times collecting the damn coins for the upgrade 😂. Really nice use of the theme. Game itself was a bit difficult at times but I managed to win eventually! :D The controls and jumping felt a bit "slow" at times, but a huge plus movement-wise is that the collisions didn't feel "unfair" when talking about the enemy collisions. I would like if there was a way to de-attach the hook except jumping.
The quiet princess survived another day! :D
When I clicked on the link it displayed "A password is required to view this page"? What did I do wrong? I want to play this!
