A very late to the game project for Game Off 2022. Parody of the Retirony cliched-trope.

Fun shooter! Just like in Hotline Miami you need to coordinate running with aiming your gun. Even though I am really bad at these games I still managed to get a score of 20 by just standing still and shooting at the top right corner of the left table. Some more intelligent enemies are needed.

Gotta say, love the voice overs! This is one of the few gamejam games that I actually played several times. It's simple but fun gameplay. Good job.

Thanks so much! Once the jams over I intend to improve it a good bit...feel free to make suggestions =) PS- You're game has beautiful artwork and the mechanics are so smooth.

Thank you :) As for suggestions for your improvements, there is a lot of simple stuff you can do to get some quick wins, like put a cinemachine follow-camera on your protagonist and make the room/level much longer/wider so you can move through it. You could just have a starting point on the one side and a door to the next 'level' on the other side. Work your way through the different floors/levels to get to the boss on the top floor office :D. All the door would do is load the next scene on a trigger collider, and you could pretty much copy-paste Level 1 to create the next levels, change the furniture around and the spawn points of enemies and there you go. This is what I did with my game where I pretty much just copied the scene, added trees, moved platforms around etc but all the mechanics essentially stayed the same. You've pretty much got your mechanics here so this will be easy for you to do if you want I reckon. Thanks for playing my game and for your feedback - I really appreciate that :)

Yes a randomized spawn point and more than 2 bars of music would have definitely been a part of the game if I had the time. I'm thinking short levels with  unique / quirky bosses and adding more voicelines

The references are nice. The game feels a bit... carpal tunnel unfriendly, hahaha. It's easy peasy until the boss comes, then you're out. Music could be a bit more variated and also enemy spawners. Good job anyway.

I agree with all of that. it was a rushed project. The only thing that I think you're missing the point on is the boss...its a learning experience, yes players will die the first time they play the game, but the boss is actually very easy to beat and it unlocks a different ending screen=)

Loved the Lethal Weapon references and nice use of one of my favorite tropes

I love how you tackled the theme, the voice lines were so funny!

Thank you! Theme and voicework are the redemption factors of this abomination. Your submission is very cool. I'll make sure to give it a more thorough playthrough this weekend!
