Great pixel art, really loved the art. The gameplay is nice, although the jump feels "floaty", and I can't tell if this is character design (using the bag as a parachute) or just coincidence. Mixing different "pixel sizes" (the boxes vs the rest) feels a bit off, but I think that's just my preference. The winner screen at the end made me smile, haha. Glad to see more and more games made with Godot, hope you enjoyed making it and keep on. Kudos!

Nice little game you've got going here. I really loved your art style. The gameplay/jumping on stalls reminds me of the flash game "Extreme Pamplona" I used to play when I was young.

For improvements, some bug fixing and programming related stuff (I do understand from reading the comments that you're more art focused, rather than a programmer).

Well done on releasing a game!

Developer

Thanks! What bugs did you find? I'd love to get programming feedback, since I'm planning to learn more programming. I just happen to have more experience with art than programming

Hi,

The main bugs I found were:

  • The reset button disappears when you die. This means you have to close the game and relaunch to play again.
  • You can infinite jump and easily clear the level if you just mash the jump button.
  • The reset button does not reset your health (I assume that it is meant to).

Hope these help!

Roaming Maelstrom.

Yikes those are some pretty gamebreaking bugs!

Indeed, but don't worry. You can take em down!

Nice pixel art, the main character's animation is very smooth!

Congrats on your first game!

Forget the valuables we're taking the guards instead.

It does look like they're going into the bad doesn't it? I was struggling with coding a death animation, so none was made.

This canon is actually more thematically appropriate lol

Congratulations on your first game! Godot is a good choice! A little more polish on this game can really make it shine. I enjoyed the pixel art and animation; it's very smooth. I hope to see more games coming from you, it only gets better from here. :)

Thanks, your art was cool too! Pixel art can be very powerful

Hey there!

What a way to reach the win screen lol :) I like the feel of the game it reminded me of the old Aladdin game.

Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Oh, the debug screen? Yeah, I ran out of time near the end lol.

I realised in the middle of coding the guards "eyes" that it was just 2d assassins creed.

I haven't played the Aladin game, although the market scene from the movie miiight have sprung up in my head every now and then.. "

I also thought much of skyrim l and the ridiculously huge inventory.

Looks great and well done for the first time with Godot :)

Thanks man! It's a fun engine and I can't wait to do more with it.

Cute but short

Developer

Yep lol. I would have made it longer if I made more mechanics.

Nice game! Loved the art

Developer

Thanks man! This is my first time coding in godot, and art is more my forte. I'm glad it looks nice

That is one huge backpack, can fit an entire army on it xD

Very cute game! I particularly liked the character art and animations. Good job!
