Pretty cool game! Loved the old school style, the aiming is quite nice but could use some fine tuning. Nice effort with the AI, the feel is there.

Great job

Developer

Thanks, I do agree with the aiming, especially when a sniper is harder to aim with than a pistol haha.

I never played Goldeneye, but this game is still incredible. The graphics style matches the Goldeneye style perfectly (as far as I can tell from the Karl Jobst speedrun videos of the game). And the sounds are also good. The gameplay felt good except the fact that there was no way to adjust mouse sensitivity, so I had to manually lower my DPI.

The twist at the end was really good, I a big fan of horror games and I really didn't see that coming. Great job!

Developer

You should have been able to adjust the mouse sensitivity in the settings menu. If you missed this, you are not the only one haha. Thanks for the positive feedback though, glad you liked it!

Aww man I completely missed the fact that the settings menu was scrollable. Funny how when writing the previous comment, I double checked to make sure that there wasn't that option XD.

Developer

No problem! I will make it a little more obvious though the next time. A lot of people seem to have missed the scroll function.

Did a better job building up suspense than most games I played, and I always love a horror game that doesn't just blast the loudest audio you've ever heard into your ears and instead focuses on a buildup of dark atmosphere, then throwing loud sounds at you lol. I've played Goldeneye a lot as well, and I think a prior experience like that can influence how effective this is.

Developer

Thank you! I think that a little sound design can do a lot to horror, for example the sudden lack of music.

This is really cool! Definitely nailed the goldeneye feel. Well done. Love that boomer and those slow explosions :)

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Great entry, you should be proud. So many little details you nailed. The little lean while aiming, the slight weapon sway, the blocky enemy models. I tried to get decals into my game but couldn't figure out how save going for HDRP.

All in all, you got my nostalgia vibe going, then raised the hairs on my neck. Very well done!

Developer(+1)

Really appreciate it! To be honest, I reccomend using the URP pipeline. It is much easier to work with. Also I noticed that some things didn't quite work within the HDRP pipeline yet. (or it required 2 times as much work to get the same result)

Woah, this was really well made and pretty scary at times! I enjoyed the horror elements a lot. Even more impressive was the fact that all the visual assets were made from scratch; I can't imagine making a 3D game with that level of visual quality in that short a span of time. Great stuff!

Developer

Thanks! Great tip: I used a lot of AI Stable Diffusion for texturing which saved me a lot of time. Also the art style helped a lot cutting down on time.

Really love the graphics and interpretation. Very good audio and visual wise. Might look at some button reorganization and using scroll wheel for switching guns if possible or hotkeying them for a quick swap. Very good job, and very nostalgic!

Developer

You can rebind buttons in the settings menu. I guess a lot of people missed this haha. In a full version I will add a quick swap and previous swap. That might be better yes.

Not much I can say, this was awesome! Great Job! Maybe some health pickups would've been great, but I also understand this entry is paying homage to Golden Eye

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I did consider adding health pickups, but it might make the game a little too easy. I think a difficulty setting would've been better.

I love the old AI style (run, stop, shoot). I am not a Goldeneye fan (more up to TWINE stuff) but loved the nostalgic atmosphere  =)

Glad you liked it!

GoldenEye was one of my favorite games in childhood!

This drove me back to nostalgia lane. It was really nice to see something like that, from the first level being really close to the original style, to the health bars, the bullet holes, enemy animations, the weird aiming system the original had, lol, the death screen with the blood dripping, it all looked very familiar.

Where is the golden gun??? :P :P :P

Good job mate!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am planning on making a 40-60 minute version of this game seeing the amount of positive reactions. Of course, that can't go without a resemblance of the golden gun. :)

I ll play that thing! Go for it!

Nothing more cliché than GoldenEye. Nice twist, for sure. Caught me off guard.

The mechanic where you are always needing to run over the dead bodies to keep your guns full of ammo was a great choice. The button hunting to unlock doors took away from the flow of the game. Also, headshots should be an instant kill! I played this for quite a while. Fun game overall!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. One-shot headshots might make the game a little too easy. I might add shootable helmets in the future to balance this out.

Well, a good iteration of GoldenEye, a bit dark, but nice and dynamic enough. I found it pretty simple for me

Very solid entry, I was sure that someone else would think about making an FPS game, but I didn't expect a GoldenEye 64 inspired one!

The graphics totally take you back to the 90's with the N64 low-res filtered textures and low-poly models. Good job! 😀

The aiming system feels a little weird at first (not the game's problem), but once you get it it feels good to use. It can be a bit clunky when you have 8 enemies in fron of you, but it's manageable nonetheless! The only problem that I encountered was that the cursor would go back to the center when I was aiming; I'm guessing that this was an intended design choice, but it was a little bit annoying to try to be accurate, specially at long distances.

Also, at some point I killed every enemy and I didn't know where to go or what did I have to do. I just kept walking around the empty base trying to open doors, but I couldn't find a way to continue 😔.

Other than that, very solid entry!

Developer(+1)

Yes the cursor returning to the center was intended as the GoldenEye 64 contained this mechanic. I did however turn the speed down by A LOT compared to GoldenEye haha. You can also view the objectives in the pause/main menu. However I did notice a lot of players didn't know this at first, so yeah, that could've definitely been better. Thank you for your feedback, and glad you enjoyed it!

Fun game! I didn't expect it to turn into a horror. The gameplay felt really smooth, loved the variety of weapons. Art was really impressive too, the bullet holes and destructibles were a nice touch.

Developer

Took a lot of time this one. I really wanted to do the original 007-goldeneye a bit of justice :)

Submitted(+1)

Fun fps game, a minimap would help in the lair though, I got kind of lost

Developer

I was scared a minimap would take too much away from the old 90s vibe, but maybe you are right!

Submitted(+1)

This took me back to my childhood. You nailed it!

Submitted(+1)

This is a very solid experience, felt the goldeneye vibes as soon as the level loaded. Great job!

Submitted(+1)

Nice work! This is very well put together and you did a great job putting your spin on a classic.

Submitted(+1)

This is awesome! Nice take one of my favourite games :)

Developer

To be honest, i really didn't like the controls of the old Goldeneye. It was a revolutionary game though.
