Has a nice old school feel to it, simple controls, good sound.  Nice game!

Very fun. Takes me back a few years

Got hit and crashed by cyclist, tumbleweed and a ghost? lol
Also nice ending :)
Both sound and graphics is perfect. Game itself seemed dificult at first but upgrades every checkoint really helped reduce the dificulty.

Nice canvas game. Obstacles are too silly but nice job.

Damn cyclists get out of the middle of the road! Good job and done with Typescript … mind blown!

Nice. Old-school!

Cool game, feels old style of it, only it is very easy compared to old game of such genres. Still enjoyed it, remember me good old times.

Just like real life as I speed down the road with no breaks nearly missing cyclist and turtles! Really enjoyed this game! reminded me of my old f1 race game for my Gameboy colour I used to always play! cool idea getting powerups to slow you down instead of speed up. and great music!

This was a lot of fun. I’m not the best gamer, so I experience a lot of deaths haha. But once I got the hang of it, lots of fun. Loved the aesthetics, definitely appreciated the power ups! Really good entry overall!

hey really good job! the game is indeed fun and challenging.

I managed to win after several times. The art reminds me of old retro racing games, well done!

Nice sounds too!

Nice work with perspective!

From one Outrun inspired submission to another, we absolutely love the 2.5D recreation you've managed to do here outside of any engine. Congrats lad.

Love the music, gameplay is fun and relaxing too. I got stuck under a bridge I couldn't reverse out of and when I hit restart, I lost all checkpoints. Would be good if restart takes you to the last checkpoint or something like that

Reminds me a lot about Horizon Chase Turbo, but if the game were about survival rather then racing. I like the upgrade system and sound effects as well. Love it!

Developer

Horizon Chase Turbo was one of and inspirations for this, I took some in-game screenshots to help me re-create the perspective and the curves of the turns, and the very first zone kinda has similar colors of the very first levels of Horizon Chase Turbo :) Up until the midpoint of my development I also used a pixel-art version of the base car. So my game definitely has some references to it, good eye.

Great game! I really enjoyed the graphics on this one and the sound design really enhanced the gameplay.

And the idea was hilarious, good stuff!

Press any spacebar ?
How many do you think I have!? ;D

That plus the "I love ducks" had me actually laughing and that's before the game even starts. I felt the outrun vibes immediately also.

Very nice submission !

Developer

A funny story about the spacebar and how you as a developer have to come up with workarounds when you don't have a lot of time.
When I added music to the main menu for the first time, I found out that the browsers don't allow you to auto-play audio and video unless a user has interacted with the page. But I wanted to play the music in the main menu right when it opens. The cliche "Press any key" screen came to the rescue - a user has to press something, hence I get an interaction and I can play audio. But then I found out that keys such as Ctrl, Alt or Backspace don't count as a user interaction for some reason, so it's not actually "any" key. I had to limit the input, and the "Press any spacebar" was born :)

I fell in love with this game the moment when the dolphins sounds started :D Such a cool ambiance!

It reminded me of Rad Racer an old NES game that I like a lot.

I'm glad you were able to put together a more modern take on this genre! Thanks!

I couldn't get past the water level but this was lots of fun :)
