Voice acting is great. Nice lore and enemies)
The intro is really something, but I miss a bit of polish during gameplay and level selection. As an example, some invisibility-frames could help a lot to survive when cornered by enemies (which happens often). Nice entry anyway, kudos
Voice acting is great, and the game is quite well set up. Switching between the gun and the 2 shockwaves was very nice and felt really powerfull.
Only improvements I can see is some knockback on some weapons to have some more controlling aspects.
Congrats to the whole team !
Thank you!
Great game! Love the voice acting. I will say I struggled for a bit, but then I realized I could spend my mountain of coins on upgrades (completely my fault, it says it right on the info page).
Beefed up boomerang for the win!
Great job all.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I use Windows 7 and I can't choose some stats. Per example Constitution and Energizer. So when I have choice between that 2 stats I just can't pass through((
Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean you can't choose some stats?
I move cursor on stat choice option and click. Button change its color but nothing other happens so I can't leave this choice or do something else.
I really enjoyed the game! The sound acting was amazing! It was a lot of fun! Keep making more games :D
I quite like the enemies's designs and the music/ voice acting!
The story is horrifying! But awesome!:) A bit too interesting to be cliché, maybe :D Cool sound acting, I also like the idea of commenting on the player's death. Nice entry!
Thanks!
The story is great as well as the voiceacting. I liked the drawing during the beginning. The game itself is fun, I likethe fact that you can choose between different weapons.
I feel like the graphics between scenes, ui and gameplay are too different.
Overall great game that has potential!
Thank you!
Congrats on finishing your game! Pulling together so many people can be tough, so well done!
You nailed the overly dramatic tone and build up with that opening cinematic. I thought the cutscene backdrops were AI generated, but you don't mention that in the credits (that I noticed). Did you or someone on the team create all these by hand? That's pretty cool if true.
The voice acting did wonders for this. I thought Nyx was a little stiff compared to the Narrator/Taylor, but it still felt a lot better than a lot of other games out there. Though having some way to pause dialogue would have helped... there was a lot of it and I had to restart once because I had a real life thing come up during the opening.
For all the setup and buildup, the gameplay didn't quite get there for me. The premise is fine, but the pacing was a bit too slow for a jam game. I didn't realize that you could upgrade your core stats from the menus for a few runs and was getting frustrated by not being able to clear like level 6 or 7 in the factory. To that end, it felt like the game was asking for a little bit too much time compared to what it introduced. The game would feel a little more engaging and snappier if the stages were shorter, rewards were better (but less frequent). Right now, it feels like it requires a bit of grinding/farming to get anywhere in the Mausoleum since the enemies do significantly more damage without dropping more rewards.
With jam games in particular, a lot of players will want to play a variety of games instead of diving really deep into a handful. Designing your game with depth in mind is great, but making sure your players can experience that depth as quickly as possible is really important. And with your lengthy (but thematically appropriate) intro cutscene, the gameplay progression just felt too slow.
Still, y'all made a really cool game in just a month. This is absolutely the type of game you could find publish on a store if it got a proper year of development devoted to it.
Be proud. You made a game in a month and it's pretty darn cool. Keep making games!
Thanks for the feedback!
I liked the soundacting and songs. When I picked up %3 move speed, character speed up like %300 and I couldn't control the character and died :D
The game has potential but needs upgrades to graphics and UI especially.
I haven't found of heard about that speed bug, on which browser/OS did you play?
Thanks for letting me know either way!
I used Microsoft Edge On Windows 11. I don't know why but character moved so fast that i died instantly. I hope you can find the problem. If it is not because of speed equation error it may be because of FixedUpdate \ Update difference.
I'll have to try it on Edge, the code is simple, your velocity vector gets multiplied by 1.03, the only thing that could have gone wrong is that it got applied more than one time. Thank you.
It’s always nice to see a jam game with a considered plot! I appreciated the frequency with which you got to choose upgrades, and once I got the hang of the controls, it was pretty satisfying to kill the small mobs. It has a good difficulty curve.
As others mentioned, the clashing art styles were distracting. I also didn’t realize what the gold was for until I clicked the Skills menu on accident. A polished hub with clearer instructions on what your goals are/what you can do in the game world would be a welcome addition.
Thank you! This is the first time I hear about the gold, I wonder if some people never notice that. Good to know for future updates!
Really fun game, Good sound effects, voice acting and story line.
The difficulty ramps up just about right, I haven't managed to finish it yet tho.
Great job
I hope you are able to finish it! I'm really proud of how the bosses turned out.
We liked the art of the game, but tha problem with it is that it mixes different styles to a point where at times you don't know if it's the same game. The audio is lovely and the gameplay is fun, albeit repetitive.
Thank you!
It's a pretty cool game. The story sounds compelling... and there's so much telling. More showing while I get to play would be preferred. I like the different weapons and upgrading in different ways as I work through a stage.
That's true, thank you!
I like the music and the variety in enemy behaviors really makes the combat engaging. There's quite a disconnect between the visuals during the story, combat, and menus but each part on its own looks nice. I liked it overall, good work!
Thank you! And I agree about the visuals.
The cover is looking great, some graphic upgrade and the game is good to go!
I think so too, thank you!
Impressive voice acting. Fantastic story premise.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I did not finish the game yet, but the game is great considering the time limit imposed. Nice story elements and nice upgrades ones too!
It's nice to be able to play with different weapons also. Great addition, that combines well with the upgrade mechanic. Well done team! I think it's very nice that you're looking into adding content to the game. Keep going GG !
- Mission Control
Thank you!
Very interesting game! The story was the biggest part for me. It was intense, and felt well made. I also like your creativity with the theme. good job:) (feel free to check out my game too:))
