Amazing job on this! This was a lot of fun to play, just wish it was a little longer. Will definitely look forward to the full-sized game!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun!
I really loved this game! The tycoon element was really cool, and everything from the upgrades to the gift delivery was really polished. I only wish that I had more days to really build my bug army 😂
Thanks for playing! :) The limited number of days was chosen to add to the challenge of building the "ultimate" bug delivery team :)
Love this holiday interpretation of the bug theme. The tutorial was very cool! It explained everything very well. I had lots of fun playing this game!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun!
Cute graphics, polished UI, and a well explained tutorial! Also like the thought of putting in a custom seed. I was able to get 64 gifts delivered but I was a little confused on what the actual strategy is but I guess that would leave me to figuring out, haha.
:) I think there are multiple strategies, which also depend on the random seed you choose! 64 gifts is pretty good!
The complexity of this game is very impressive for a jam game! 😲
Also it feels very clean and finished.
The art and music were pretty and fitted the game well.
It's nice to see such a well defined and structured tutorial in a game jam game :).
Congrats on this great entry!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you found that my choice of art and music meshed well together! My daughter helped pick the music, a fact that she is very proud of and constantly reminds me haha
Wow, VERY polished game.
You did a tremendous job putting the tutorial together.
Nice work!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the tutorial! I realized that it was almost impossible to play the game without a tutorial, so I'm glad I got it done :)
Fun little management game! Love games with upgrades and I really enjoyed the metrics screen at the end of each round to see how you performed. The map screen is cool too watching the bugs deliver the gifts. Great job!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! It's not covered in the tutorial, but you can pan and zoom in the map screen with your mouse :)
Great game! I enjoyed playing it and seeing how well I could do (the competitive side of me defo got triggered)! I'd love the map to be customised to match the game art - but Love the little bug animations!
Thanks! Yes, I agree about being able to get the map to fit the art style. I ended up not having time to do that, but I'll keep that in mind for the future version :)
Absolutely, it's still a fun/enjoyable game so it's not at all a complaint! I mean, hey - It's a jam, we don't have all the times in the world for them!
Definitely a very unique take and concept on the theme! If I could offer any criticism - I wish the art style was more cohesive, individually the different elements like characters, UI, Map and environment are beautiful stand alone but all together there’s a bit of a stylistic clash. I also think making the UI elements more responsive would’ve been awesome given how much the game relies on such interactions.
That being said this is a pretty awesome take on the theme, in terms of trying something new and different you did a wonderful job. I love that you actually put a tutorial together and laid out a good and cohesive UX.
Well done! Kudos for getting all of this done on your own, extremely impressive!
Thanks for playing!
If you don't mind, could you give a little more detail about the UI elements being more responsive? I'd love to improve on it in my next version.
I think one very easy improvement that would help a lot is simply adding a hover state for buttons and adding a button prompt for dialogue! Otherwise I honestly think this is beautifully done - Its nice to see this much effort put into the tutorial, I think thats often overlooked and the bugs are really well designed!
Excited to see the next version of the game, I’ll be on the lookout c:
I don't think I've ever seen a christmas bugs game and I loved it! I kind of got lost a bit during the tutorial because I forgot some things but then actually playing it, it was okay! Its super polished, I looooooooooooove the designs of the bugs and I just like how all the different pieces fit together even though on paper, I wouldn't think they would! Great job!
Thanks! :) I'm glad you could play the game even after getting lost in the tutorial!
Twas my own stupidity probably hehe
wow very polished game in every aspect. the game mechanic looks well thought out that i can spend so much time to tweak and try different strategies!
the only thing i can note as a downside could be that it'd be more helpful to differentiate the movers and preppers in the training window visually (e.g. an icon) rather than putting a role text on each bug, in that way i can instantly see who's in what role.
i am so excited to play the full sized game as you mention in the game page XD great job!
Thanks for playing! I agree with your comment about differentiating the movers and preppers more! I'll do that in the next version :)
Looks like you have spent a lot of time and effort on this. Fun game!
Thanks!
Very nice and polished game!
Thanks for playing!
Very polished, nice graphics and music. Loved the detailed metrics for gift delivery. Can easily picture myself spending hours obsessing over these numbers ! :)
Thanks! Actual delivery companies do obsess over such numbers :)
Really great idea, very nicely polished, good mechanics, and the artwork all fits very nicely together. The UI is really great; the pause menu with audio controls is a nice touch, the metrics of each run are neat, and the overall intuitivity and convenience of the buttons make the game look and feel very polished.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!
This is lovely! Bugs and Xmas theme. And I used to play every tycoon game out there. The tutorial is great too. You really put some effort in this, congrats for delivering.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the tutorial :)
The game is so fun, the graphics is very great too. I try a little in browser mode and now I'm downloading the game to keep playing more later.
my last play had 40 gifts delivered
Thanks for playing! :) Feel free to let me know if you have any comments, suggestions, etc!
This was fun! Very cute graphics, and the sound is nice too (i like the dramatic music for Christmas Eve lol).
The highest score I got was 30 presents delivered... I don't really have a conception of how good that is in the grand scheme of things lol, maybe other players can share their scores in this comments section!
I'm glad you liked the dramatic music for Christmas Eve! :)
I hope others will share their score too! I'm sure you can get a higher score if you replayed though!
I was particularly thrilled by the cute graphics and the intricate mechanisms that demand for strategic thinking to master. Each session is relatively short for a simulator game, but there is some replayability in the form of starting over with a "shuffled deck" of random bug findings and trying to get better scores than before. In turn, these scores are neatly presented with more detailed metrics, which was an interesting touch.
Overall, a nice game!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, it was designed to be a relatively short game so that players can replay it on the same seed to get a higher score, or try a different seed for something different.
I'm planning to create a longer, larger-scale version of the game, since I had to cut a lot of features out to fit this game bash :)
