Had a blast playing this! Really inspiring to see the amount of work, thought and love put into this project and that too in such a short amount of time. Nothing more to say other than what others have already said about this. Looking forward to the campaign you wish to add later!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

It's very impressive that you are able to build a game around a problem that would usually only be interested by academics (I am fully aware of how hard that is!). The complexity of the scheduling problem also makes up a great captivating game. I really enjoyed playing it! I gave it a few tries and my highest score is 81 (by maximizing on the air drones).

Just purely for my own interest, would you mind sharing how the road network is represented (weighted graph?) and what kind of scheduling algorithm did you use?

Developer(+1)

81 is a great score!

The basemap is OSM, and there's a lot of caching that's done so that the simulation runs in under a second.

That being said, the simulator itself is map-agnostic (and agnostic to the map representation) and can run with multiple base maps simultaneously, e.g., in this newer version of the game (that was updated after the game bash deadline, so this version isn't published yet) where the simulation has an indoor map and an outdoor map: https://twitter.com/Allison_Liem/status/1467847291495084032?t=f4ZANitH1YMsj-pYke...

The scheduling algorithm in this version is pretty primitive, with lots of random selections. Having "smarter" algorithms is on the feature list for a future version, where players can research upgrades across a campaign.

This was a really fun, albeit short game, but it feels crammed full of development work and I think is a great achievement.

Maybe it's because my brain is a bit wonky this Sunday morning, but I was judging what to spend my money, hearts and time on based on a bit of high-level guess work and intuition rather than trying to work it all out properly. What might be nice is to be able to rewind a day and replay it with different choices - that's kind of gaming the system I guess, but it allows you to see what choices might lead to better results. I assume also that there is actually a mathematically determinable optimal solution to a given seed? If so, it would be nice to see it so you can compare your final result.

The music and aesthetics were nice, though I'd have liked it to have even more of a festive vibe. The tutorial is a really good introduction to the game.

Overall, I loved it and I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! You can replay the game on the same seed, and everything is completely deterministic if you take the same actions, so you can try different actions to see what would work best :)

how play tho

how play?

Developer

You can play on your browser through WebGL, or download the Windows or macOS versions. In-game, there should be a tutorial that's enabled by default that will teach you how the game works. Please let me know if you have any trouble!

Very cute, short, thematic, and has appropriate music.

Good art aesthetic and interesting ideas.

I think the tutorial was a little long honestly and in a typical game probably would have lost me early on but I’m not sure if thats an indictment of the game or me.

Thanks for playing, I appreciate your feedback!

oh, i love the idea behind this game even if is that short :P

Developer

Thanks! I'm working on a full(er) version with a campaign, hopefully you'll play and enjoy it too!

Interesting idea :))

The graphics are well made and you definitely put a lot of effort in it.

Nice game! Great job!

Nice game, fun to play, good quality. The only issue for me is the theme, not really bad, but not as good as the overall game.

Thanks for playing!

Wow, really nice graphics and sound! I liked the gameplay as well. The tutorial is a lot of text but it's actually quite easy to grab the gameplay mechanics. Thumbs up!

I like the UI and sound design, this is like an actual complete game for me haha, A lot of info too on the things you can do, loved it!

There are so many systems built into this game that are so impressive - random worker stats, the performance rundown, bugs following actual roads in a logical manner to deliver gifts (?!?) - that this could be a fully realised game. I also never felt like I had too much money or not enough, which is a common issue with management games like this, so congratulations on that. Overall a very good entry!

Very polished, and clever how you interpreted the theme, and worked in the pandemic, AND worked in Christmas! The tutorial was a little long for my liking. Very nice work!

Nice game and it feels so incredibly polished! The tutorial seemed a bit long but then the actual session had a nice balance and didn’t feel stretched out at all. I also loved the dramatic music at the end.
