Super cool entry, the animations are great especially on the bear. The combat was pretty fun but I almost wish there was a way to charge up the dash attack while moving, as it really leaves one vulnerable, but that might be an intentional part of the challenge. The bear boss does feel too difficult as it really does seem to hit you so easily, just running away one cannot avoid it, and using the dash attack usually just means you are now right in front of it and can't run away fast enough to avoid the next attack (at least that is how it felt to me). I still had lots of fun though!

Wow, was that an attempt at a souls-like in a game jam? Hahaha, that was a good entry! The bosses were both very different and fun, I really liked it overall. I would say that the hit box were a bit messy, especially on the second boss, you would lose life before he swings, evading his swings were nigh impossible, given you don't know exactly the range of his swings. And then on his second phase, the hitboxes on the fire swirls he summons were very forgiving but they were so clustered together that I never knew if I was going to take damage or not, especially because the arena became so dark you could barely see your guy. It felt a lot like a mix between trial and error and gambling. But I can only imagine how hard it must have been to make the AIs and the character controls. A good entry, I say. Great job!

Yes it was :), thanks! I completely agree on the messy hitboxes, we had to rush the second boss due to time constraints, so there was a lot of jank especially on the second boss. There's going to be a lot more hitbox clarity in future releases and we'll probably add a light on the player for the bear's final phase.

Very cool game but the final boss is just impossible no? What is the trick? Find my gameplay video below:

Thanks! We hadn't implemented a tutorial yet, but there's a dash attack that could be used by holding the mouse button down, which can get in damage on the bear before he swings. He was supposed to be the second boss but was changed to the final boss after making some content cuts to make the deadline, so he's a little harder than he will be when we move him to second boss and add more content.

Very cool. The music was fun and the combat was engaging. I did find the main weapon mechanics a little hard to gel with, though. The dash was awesome, but the normal slash was hard to make any use of for me. It would have been nice to be able to use it to knock back the slimes and such.

Very cool art though. I couldn't get to the bear but the gif of it looks amazing.

Very cool but difficult to control! Dynamic lighting would have improved the atmosphere and sensation of being inside a tower. There was no sound, at least on my computer. The  introduction  was too slow.

I really like the pixel art and the animations. I made it to the bear, but did not stand a chance. Using the mouse to aim the attack was not super obvious at first. I just assumed it would attack in the direction I was facing. I did realize why I was only attacking to the right until I made it to the Slime King. I might have controlled better if the characters moved a bit slower and the rooms were smaller. It felt weird moving so fast across the playfield and having the area be so large. Other than that though, it was a really cool game. Especially that top-notch pixel art.

A very well-made game, the graphics are a bit simple, but the enemies look great. Maybe a bit more feedback when you or the enemies take damage would be good, apart from that a decent game.

Hi there, good job on your game! Firstly, I gotta say I loved the boss fights. The chimera one was very nicely designed. Which program did you use for your graphics? As for the Slime boss, there was actually a glitch were I was pinned down by the boss and was not getting hit by anything. Overall, fun game and I would've loved to see more levels and how the story would've progressed after the chimera.

Developer

Thanks you! The effects were all done with unity's particle system + a few scripts, as far as the pixel art goes, our the team used a combination of aseprite and pyxel edit, there's not much difference between them its solely preference.
