I'm slightly confused with this premise, if I'm being honest. Seeing that this is an "educational" game, and that it's called Get to Know the Greek Gods, it seems a little backwards to me that the game wants you to already know about the Greek gods. And you actually can't learn anything about the god in question unless you give a correct answer first. I just found myself blindly guessing at most stuff, which gave me no sense of accomplishment or loss when the answer was revealed.

This could be a matter of timing and resources, but it could be useful to at least share a story, or an image, or even just a hint of some kind before you quiz the player on what they know. That would at least give the player the satisfaction of attempting to learn and demonstrate comprehension of a new subject. :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

You're right, I didn't do a very good job structuring this to actually be educational. Plus, I think I assumed that the general populace has a better knowledge of Greek mythology than they actually do. I didn't even consider that if you get the answer wrong all three times, you never learn anything about that god until now!

I was considering having some real information about the god, as well as images, before the question, but ran out of time for that. A hint system would have been easier and could have worked really well if I had thought of that! I definitely need to do a better job of anticipating what the game is actually like for the players, rather than just getting caught up having fun making the mechanics work. ^^;

Thanks again! I thought this game was basically done, but hearing back from other people has made me realize how to make this a much better game in the future!

I totally understand getting caught up in the creative part of game development. It's definitely the most fun part for me! I've come to realize, though, that the most important part is playtesting and feedback. The earlier I can get that stuff started the better. Best of luck if you continue working on this project! You've absolutely got a good foundation already.

1 simple tip, if you emphasise with educational games, try to use more visuals. It does not matter if the game is for kids or adults, images will make information much more easier to asimilite. I'll be honest, I read only the questions and the answers and never the description after. Also you can add a reward system, like "after 10 correct answers get X", people overall like the feeling of progress, and THEN you can give them more information. First engage people, make them intrested, curious and only after try to educate them. Hope you the best.

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely intend to update this soon with more visuals, I just ran out of time making everything.

I guess I structured this more like a trivia/quiz than a real educational game, honestly, because I know I always get frustrated doing trivia when they don't elaborate on why the answer is right or wrong. Although, that might just be me, I guess.

The extra reward system also makes a lot of sense! Especially because when testing this game I know going through the whole thing got a bit monotonous, so having something pop up intermittently would break that up and give the game a much better pace.

Thanks again!

I liked this one, I realised I knew more than I thought I did, although that was still not very much!
