I had the opportunity to try previous alpha builds, and what can I say... I just love this game!! Not just because I'm a hopeless nostalgic when it comes to NES-style graphics and music, but the randomly generated worlds and tales always make you want to go for more! Depending on your character's class (and ally if you have one), you'll need to adapt your gameplay and strategy, so it's not always just grinding and plowing ahead. UI is intuitive, monster designs are great, music is catchy, and the overall randomly-generated tales is just brilliant. Once complete this could really become a classic!

Oh, I really love this. It reminds me of the original Dragon Quest games. I'm probably going to sink quite a few hours into throughout the week.
Thank you! But also, oh no! LOL The game still needs so much more work; it tends to get same-y after only a few playthroughs, and I'm not sure I have the bosses balanced very well.

I like getting treasures, buying some food at the Deli, and talking to the people in the town. I would also want to go on a picnic with a date.

Aww, that's a cute idea!
Was fun. I did pretty poorly though lol. I was getting low on health and couldn't find my way back to the starting town to spend my gold. I was in a dungeon and couldn't exit the same way I went in (not sure if this is by design?).
UI was good and functional although I was confused when I first entered the skill/items screens before I had anything to use. At first I thought it was bugged as it was all empty. Might be an idea to grey out the options if you don't have anything to use yet.
The maps are great, however I found the inside of the dungeon to be a little bare. I only saw one in my playthrough so not sure if all the same but they could use some clutter/decoration to make it more interesting.
My only gripe was the animated water which kind of hard to look at. Maybe slowing down the animation speed could help

Great points about improving the dungeons! Some interesting decorations would be a good next step. Special decorations associated with the entrances could make the entrances easier to locate, as well.

I'm concerned about the dungeon; I intended for it to always be possible to exit the same way you enter. (The exception would be if the reason the entrance is blocked is clearly explained in game, e.g. a cave-in or falling down a hole, but I haven't implemented anything like that yet!) Could you please tell me the Tale ID of the game where this happened, so that I can see this problem and debug it? (You can find the Tale ID of each saved game in the Continue Tale menu.) Thank you!
Ok so I had another go using the Tale ID (nice feature BTW) and it turns out I was just not paying attention when I first went it. For some reason I thought the stairs was where I entered initially entered. I had actually exited the dungeon however I just went in the wrong direction and missed the starting area. The game isn't bugged I think I am haha

I like Tyruswoo's idea of decorating dungeon entrances in a distinctive way; that'd help players orient and remember how to retrace their steps.
Impressive work as always! I especially like the new enemies, including the rock monster and the flying orange puffball with teeth! :D
Tale ID: A78-6HR
I completed the tale in 38 minutes, which was a good length for having 3 available dungeons and two towns! I also went to two dungeons to get enough gold to buy the library, but it was cool that another dungeon existed, so the "Continue Tale" option at the end was enticing! Very good design!
The introductory town does feel a little stuck to the right side of the screen at the beginning. I wonder if giving towns slightly more space on the edges might help in some cases?
I also really like the new variety of overworld music! The scrolling text at the beginning was really cool, too, and I was hoping for a little more scrolling text at the end when the heroine bought the library. But the text spoken by the building seller was sufficient for the tale.
5/5 for appropriate fun, variety, and interesting places, music, and art for the length of game!
Oh, I forgot to mention, I really enjoyed the new designs of the two dungeons I saw: The watery cave that required hugging the edges of the caverns to explore, and the building on the surface in the shape of a large cross, with connecting rooms. Great new dungeon designs!

This game is fun! I like the NES style. The enemies are cool looking, especially that rock creature.
